2015 is going to be a big year for cinema! Make sure you don't miss any of these hit films...

This year we're going to be able to watch sequels to some of the greatest film franchises in Hollywood including Star Wars, the Terminator and Jurassic Park, as well as newer ones such as Pitch Perfect and Magic Mike.

Pundits are already predicting a record year for box office sales as a new generation of cinema-goers are introduced to these iconic franchises.

Fast and Furious 7 – 3rd April

After the tragic death of Paul Walker in November 2013, filming for the 7th installment was put on hold. However, Walker’s brothers stepped up to fill in for some of his scenes and the cast and crew decided to complete the film in honour of their late friend. The final film is set to screen in the UK on April 3.

Avengers: Age of Ultron – 24th April

Once again the Avengers (Samuel L.Jackson, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner), have to team up in this epic follow-up to one of the biggest super heroes films in Hollywood. This time it’s to stop the evil Ultron from carrying out his villainous plans after Tony Stark’s (Robert Downey Jr’s) peacekeeping program goes drastically wrong.

Pitch Perfect 2 - 15TH May

Pitch Perfect is back and this time the Barden Bellas are hitting up the World Championships where no American team has won before! The second film continues with the original cast and promises to be just as hilarious as the much-loved 2012 flick. Catch this film on May 15th

Jurassic World – 12TH June

22 years after Jurassic Park first screened, a new theme park has been born. This closely guarded plot has finally been revealed and we now know that it revolves around the havoc caused by a newly created dinosaur hybrid. The cast includes Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt, who plays the park’s Velociraptor handler and Bryce Dallas Howard (The Help) as the scientist behind the dinosaur hybrid.

Terminator Genisys – 3RD July

Arnold Schwarzenegger said he’d be back and he certainly is! The fifth installment of the Terminator series sees Schwarzenegger reprise his iconic role alongside two TV stars Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) and Jai Courtney (Spartacus). This time Kyle Reese is sent back through time to team up with John Connor’s mother, Sarah and it promises to be the most explosive yet!

Magic Mike XXL – 31st of July

After the popularity of Magic Mike back in 2012, fans of the film have eagerly awaited the return of Channing Tatum and his steamy co-stars to the stage. Set three years on, the film joins the characters for one last blow-out performance in Myrtle Beach including newcomers Elizabeth Banks and Jada Pinkett-Smith. And good news for those of you who were shocked by the ending in 2012, Channing has promised there’s just as much stripping/dance scenes but with less of the dark drama that featured in the first film!

Spectre, James Bond – 6th November 2015

Spectre, the 24th James Bond film, will see Daniel Craig reprise this famous role for a fourth time. Now with a new ‘M’ in place (Ralph Fiennes), Bond is sent on a mission to uncover a sinister organisation and reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE. Christoph Waltz (Django) is also onboard to star as the film’s villain, Franz Oberhauser.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – part 2 - 20th November

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 will see this epic trilogy come to an end on November 20th. Star Wars: The Force Awakens – 18th December

The Force Awakens continues the saga first created by George Lucas back in 1983.
