This module at first seemed irrelevant and boring but it turned out to be so memorable and looked complicated but actually was very easy. The exam was easy for everyone and was an easy first to get. The teacher was really lovely even though some students had given her a hard time. She had left on maternity leave and I hope she returns to teach other students.

As with all modules it was taught by a wonderful lecturer who went above and beyond to engage with all of us.Coursework was split into 4 tasks over the year, each split into 4 areas for a team of students to complete. These covered the entirety of the software development life-cycle and taught all necessary skills and knowledge for professional application.

During the industry module we completed the agency workshop awards. This involved being set 10 briefs from 10 different agencies over 4 weeks. We worked on each brief in pairs, and went to each agency to present our work. The top pair at each crit was awarded a mentor from that agency. Me and my partner won a mentor at the ad agency VCCP. Our mentor will help us to get a portfolio together, and give us advice and contacts on the way.

The industry experience of guest speakers is high quality. The content is very up to date and relevant however, there is a lot of changing between marketing, finance and general business. The variety of assignments keeps it engaging and interesting such as presentations, essays and mock real life tasks. The seminars are interactive and help you to get an understanding by using industry examples that are relevant. There are also plenty of opportunities to get real life work experience that can help with future employment.

The structure of my course was okay but because I lived at home in London which was a two hour train journey away, I felt the timetable was inconsiderate and given at the last minute before we started despite me asking for it during the months leading up to the start of the term so I couldn't tell my place of work of any changes of shifts needed to work around the timetable. They weren't very efficient with this which angered me. Most of the lecturers were great and I have enjoyed making new friends.

The teaching resources are not sufficient for my course at my university, however we do cover a lot of different aspects of the modules to get a general overview and insight of the psychology and criminology course. Research methods has some complexity, but if you follow the structure provided in the lecture notes you'd be okay. Assessments are done via a submission to the online portal, and feedback notes are provided.

My uni is not the most social of places, but your enjoyment is what YOU make it.

The course itself is more than I expected, in that it has given me a lot of opportunities such as the chance to work in a broadcast van and working with industrial equipment, allowing me to progress. The standard of teaching is good, the lecturers are helpful, friendly and always willing to help. The easy access via email to my tutors also makes the course more relaxing and makes it easier to contact other members off staff who could help with your problems. One thing I don't like so much is the amount of written work, as I thought the course was mainly practical. However, this has helped me progress further in key areas. In the future however, I think it would be a good idea for students to pick all of the individual modules they want to do, so that it is more beneficial in the long run. On the other hand, I have definitely enjoyed my time on the course.

Music and live event management is a superb course! For those whose passion lies within music but perhaps doesn't fancy performing, this course is the one.The course gives you a firm foundation for music business and covers all aspects of management, from the theory behind what works best within a music organisation, considering structure, environment and history to management of crowds, nuisance and criminal behaviour in a live event setting.

This course really covers everything you need to know before going into a label or music organisation with the confidence and knowledge to impress.

Not only does the course open your eyes to the thought process behind live events and labels, the lecturers all open doors to internships and contacts.

The only downside to this course is where it's situated, I find the town personally, lacking in entertainment especially with live events, therefore there isn't much opportunity within the town to get an internship how if you're willing to travel an hour and half outside you'll reach the big boys in London and the student city of Birmingham!

I would definitely reccommend this course to anyone who is wanting to pursue a career in the music world!

The course is taught by great lecturers, all of whom know their areas inside out.The course was in its infancy when it started and has improved with each year, with those studying in the years following mine receiving an even better, more specialised education.
