I thoroughly enjoyed this course as I really liked the other students, some teachers (Robert Taffurelli, Nina Jones etcetera) and the media side of things. The library is well stocked and the online system to reserve books is easy to use. The printing system is easy to use across all libraries and the set-up of the campus I was on was easy to get around (Cyncoed). The on-sight gym is quite good and conveniently situated by the halls of residence for first years.

However, the name itself is not representative of the course criteria which annoyed me. Do not be fooled, it is not all sides of English- it only covers literature. Also, it has a serious lack of resources - no radio station, no student magazine or newspaper etcetera... Not great for an aspiring media student! They do not teach you any graphic design or editing skills which I think are quite important for the industry. There are also not many unions available to join, unless you are keen on sport. The Student Union is not particularly active.

Over the first term, I have been very happy with my course content, and not coming straight from college (having spent two years out of education) the first term has still been about easing into this form of teaching and recapping a level. At some pions the teaching / forms of assessment have seemed slightly unorganised - mix ups between which lectururers are putting up notices in the student portal so no information ended up being given out. Overall however, the standard of teaching seems generally high, with lecturers demonstrating the available support day to day

My degree has been a dissapointing study choice for several reasons. The content is quite broad meaning we learn the basics or fundamentals of many things but never in enough detail. I feel I have received very little 'teaching' in the more practical modules that involve programming - just 'google it'. The assessment is fairly good and takes in several methods exams, coursework, presentations etc. The best thing about my course has been the year out placement.

Probably the best taught module on my course. I feel this has improved my technical knowledge the most and is a genuine employable skill. The module leader is very experienced and very good at teaching novice/ beginner students. His lectures were fairly engaging considering the content he had to present.

This module is one of my favourites because I have a strong interest in marketing with regards to events. This content of the module is interesting with straight forward assignments that allow you to put theory into practice and learn independently as well as in lectures. The structure of the module is also very well done with a clear timeline of topics that follow on from one another and is taught by lecturers with both knowledge and experience of the marketing industry and they also successfully relate the topic to the events, tourism and hospitality industry in order to keep it relevant to us.

The lecturer is poor and incredibly rude when replying to emails which have legitimate questions. Subject content is pretty dull. Going to lectures doesn't seem to enhance learning more and it could just be done sitting in my room looking at the lecture slides. Very demoralising getting limited feedback in the essays and then when asking for support getting a ride response.

This is a new module we have for 3rd year. It involves governments and central banks, and what policies they use. The content is tough, but it is one of the more useful modules that we can learn. Our module leader takes this lecture so it is very informative and good quality teaching. We have an exam and 1 piece of coursework.

I think this module is one of the most helpful as it not only involves 6 in class tests, but you also have to discuss the information in meetings which I find a lot easier to learn through discussion rather than reading information.

I really enjoyed this module and the essay could be on any diet you wanted which was very interesting

The teaching was excellent and she was a really good lecturer making it thoroughly enjoyable. She made it more interactive and gave us food to try that people may have not had before.

The content included a range of things such as vitamins and minerals and went into the science of it which was very intresting.
