Studying Geology with Physical Geography has been a thoroughly enjoyable experience, with great field trips to places such as Tenerife, the Outer Hebrides, Mallorca and the Lake District!

A varied and interesting set of optional modules has allowed me to customise my degree to my best interests, and a mixture of coursework and examination style assessments has enabled me to apply a variety of different problem solving skills.

Having learnt various transferable skills, and most importantly an invaluable amount of knowledge I feel I am ready to enter the Geoscience industry with determination and a go get it attitude!

Overall, I have had a good experience with my course. The department has a inviting, friendly atmosphere and my lecturers operate under an 'open door' policy, allowing students to drop in without an appointment. My main issue is that I didn't think sufficient support was provided for a number of my assignments and my Dissertation Supervisor was not helpful and was out of his depth.

I can understand how other students may really enjoy my degree and how it will aid them in their journeys into the film industry. However, for me, it isn't worth the money. To think that I was only in maximum two days a week. I regret not picking a more worthy degree such as midwifery. Nevertheless, there are some lecturers which are extremely good at what they do, however there are others which do not seem as enthusiastic. Also, I think that they should make a years placement in the industry compulsory.

This university has immensely bettered my skill set. From building on confidence to application processes I've loved every moment! The lecturers know you as a person rather than a number and can tailor feedback according to your own development rather than general feedback. They makes lectures interesting and educational which is not an easy task. The department is constantly developing and already offers state of the art facilities that are readily available to students to use for research. My only criticism would be that I wished they had integrated the Erasmus programme sooner as it would have been something that u would have loved to partake in; they have now brought it in but sadly whilst in third year it is too late to do.On the whole I will cherish this experience and hope to return in the near future.

I feel that the teaching of my course has been excellent. The staff are very passionate and knowledgeable. A few staff displayed a lesser interest in teaching my group as the degree is new, which made us feel a disadvantage. The course content has been interesting and challanging. I feel that I all subjects have been useful. I liked the fact that there were less exams than in other degree subjects. Placements were arranged well. Structure is good but does not take into account school holidays, which was difficult for some students with children.

When i first started the course, I felt like it did have a lot of places where it could improve, eg, timetables, lesson structure and also how effective it where to learn about certain subjects. However, I know think that the lessons, lectures, seminars and content of the course will be relevant to the field in which I would like to work in the future, which also includes learning about different marketing and advertising techniques, aswell as different programs to help achieve your goals, learning how to use different computing techniques to make your work professional and also pdp, which will help you in working life make yourself better, not only at your job, but also work harder and learn different and new techniques that could increase business. Overall, I think this is a good course if you would like to go into a marketing, pr or business oriented job after graduating.

In terms of the content and structure, I believe we go into a lot of depth about how children learn and develop throughout the important stages of their life. We go into some detail about the core subjects taught in primary school, however, there should be more seminars which apply how we teach a certain subject or topic to an actual lesson. There also needs to be more focus on the foundation subjects, as we have had little contact time in university about these subjects. Professional Practice is where I learn everything, because the university course can only teach us so much. Being on placement is how teaching really is, and we have an insight of everything: from how to talk to parents or guardians, to time managing, to assessment.

I didn't know weather to go to uni 3 years ago and I'm glad I came. I don't particularly like my course or think I will use it after I finish in 5 months but I have Learnt some great life skills by living in the student houses. The course isn't structured or helpful, and the teachers aren't great but I really have enjoyed the experiemce

Edge hill are a great university and as they were originally a teaching university they are great for teaching how to teach. The seminars are engaging and involve many lesson plans and ideas for when you are on teaching practice and in your future career. The lectures also help you to realise why it is important to teach certain skills and how games and activities help a child to learn the fundamentals in life such as holding a pencil, how to write and how to read. The university however are not very good at sourcing placements and 2 out of my 3 years I have been delayed and this year I have been sent on a remote placement on my own, which I am yet to experience. Although this is an issue, every other aspect of being at edge hill had been great and I will be very sad to leave when I graduate this year.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my further education experience so far. There are only a few negatives that I would note... Such as particular modules not being available whilst on the course that were originally stated when signing up for it and also, certain staff being too strict at marking. However, there are many positives about this University and the English degree itself, I have formed bonds with some excellent and extremely intelligent members of staff, it is truly inspiring too see how much knowledge one person can retain and recognise that you could be the same one day.

I am grateful for the experience my English teachers have given me and the university itself. It is unfortunate that student finance restrict students based on their parents income, this has certainly had a negative impact on me. However, this is no fault of the exceptional university Edge Hill.
