Liverpool John Moores University

The location of the university is perfect as most of it is in the city centre. The thing they are lacking is not having a student union bar for us to go to. My course is accounting and finance and the support and resources given was amazing and most of the lecturers really cared towards helping students. The careers service was great, offering interviews and job opportunities. Overall an amazing university.

The facilities in the sport science faculty are top notch, great to get an experience working in science labs, applying research into practice

Liverpool is one of the best places to go to Uni. John moores provides an interesting course with loads of fieldtrips which provide good experiences for the students

Very good university, made me feel very welcome and the standard of the teaching in sport science is second to none

Amazing university, all campus’s are extremely close to the centre of Liverpool. Which is where the nightlife occurs. Along with this there are many bars & resteraunts and shopping is great!!

Currently studying architecture at LJMU. Absolutely love the course, despite it taking 200% of your energy and soul to do it well, but it is definitely worth it. The tutors are brilliant - very helpful, knowledgable and willing to help. Facilities include studio, fab lab, laser cutters, CAD suite for PCs and macs - all of which run like clockwork. Studio can be a bit messy and disorganised with several tutor groups in at once, but its part of the mixed learning environment. Limited opportunities if you're looking to study abroad for part of your degree. I tried the Erasmus programme but didn't end up going as one country didn't teach in English, one didn't offer enough credits, and another taught half of the module on nautical architecture - not ideal to be designing boats instead of buildings... No doubt the university will be looking at this again following Brexit so more opportunities might be available. Liverpool itself is the best city ever - hate to say that i actually prefer it to my home town! Brilliant nightlife - perfect for students - met some of my best mates coming to uni, and the best experience of my life so far.

great teaching from lecturers and tutors and great academic facilities. However the sports facilities, especially the sports hall are very poor.

Some of the buildings need to be modified which is underway, good nightlife, student union is lacklustre as there is no building dedicated to it, thus confusing finding or locating the president etc. Staff are generally helpful.

The staff are friendly and willing to help with any issues, some more than others but that's the case in any university. The buildings are modern and have good facilities. The libraries are close to the campuses with is good although they could use more laptops/computers as around exam/assignment time it gets pretty full meaning it's hard to find a space to work. The lecture theatres are adequate, a lot of the time the microphones don't work making it hard to hear though so this could be improved. Overall it's a decent university in a good city. The nightlife in Liverpool is pretty good. There's lots of bars and clubs that play all kinds of music to suit everyone.

Very satisfied with our Uni from previous experience during the undergraduate degree that I decided to come back for my Masters here.

At LJMU, the lecturers are always on hand to offer help and support with regards to lectures, and exam/coursework preparation. All campuses are a nice place to study and catch up with friends. I have used the careers services and they help provide support when applying for jobs and placements

Everything has been great since I've started. The facilities for my course have been great. Plus the staff have been very supportive. One only bad thing is that something it can be a bit unorganised in areas but apart from that it's all been very good.

John Moores has 3 campuses,I mainly use the city (Byrom) campus although occasionally I will use the library at the Mount Pleasant campus as it's not as busy. The campus has been refurbished and the social areas all have computers, printing facilities and hot food. The Pharmacy course is brand new and they have put a lot of work into making it a competitive course that prepares you well for pre-reg. There is a lot of support available if you ask for it.

The buildings are very modern and all rooms are newly furnished. My workshops are very beneficial as if you're unsure you can just ask the teacher / lecturer and they can explain. Student union is good i've joined the business society.

My uni campus is overall very good especially for the price I pay for it, the room I have here is bigger than the one I have at home which is amazing I have so much more space and I only have to pay £106 a week which compared to other accommodations is an absolute steal and I would highly recommend this accommodation to any family's that might not be lucky enough to have a high income, the name of my accommodation is liberty gardens.

I love studying at John moores, the majority of my lecturers and modules are very good however to get to my campus I have to take a 20minute bus as it's not in the city centre like the other campuses. This is very annoying and does put me off going in sometimes
