The course is very small which means the lecturers know everyone and it is very easy to ask for help. There are placements in each year with a combination of one day a week placements and every day blocks for a few weeks. The one day a week placements are quite unique to MMU and something I really enjoy because you are learning at university at the same time and are able to get resources and have a week to plan. The resources are excellent and you have almost everything you need for placements with both adults and children and can take these out for several days at a time.Assessment is both with placements and exams as well as course work. It is challenging and being able to manage time is essential as often more than one piece of work is due in at the same time.I really enjoy the adult neurology teaching, the lecturers are fantastic. There is something for everyone from autism to oncology but that also means there are parts you don't enjoy just like any course. The course is 3.5 years which does make it tricky if you are living in student accommodation in the city, it is hard to find short term lets.

I feel this degree was very well structured and easy to follow when coming straight from college to university. The tutors were also very supportive with any problems i had and were understanding about my struggles. It was also a very enjoyable course, they ensured it was interactive as well as informative. Overall it was a very good experience, i may not have passed but would love to re-do my first year with this university.

Marketing is a very interesting subject to study. It gives you knowledge you would never know if not doing this course. It is fun to learn as you get to work in groups on projects and really easy to follow as a subject. The tutors are interesting and the class room work is very interactingI do feel if you have a slight interest in marketing this will give you a insight to how good it can be. The lessons are fun the tutorials are good and it's all group work so you can have fun while working.

I glad I chose international business above regular business, because of the global perspective we gain on every topic we learn - which is incredibly useful for finding work in the real world where everything is so globalised!I'd say 90% of our teachers are dedicated and talented, and the other 10% are clearly better at research than teaching, but still as there is such comprehensive support from each units faculty, it's easy to get the job done and come out with high marks if you work hard!We also have access to Uniwide - a scheme where anyone across the university can learn a language free as part of their degree, which is useful and really enjoyable.I think the most annoying thing about the structure is that we only have 4 units a year, and a maximum of 2 electives as part of that, meaning if you happen to get a unit you're not that good at, its still worth 25% of your grade for that year.Other than that, I have really been enjoying my degree and will be sad to leave the supportive atmosphere of my tutors and friends to start in the real world - no matter how well preparedy degree has made me for it!

I would certainly say my experience on this course has overall been a positive one. The course's content is fairly well rounded, giving insight into not only buying and merchandising functions but also design, marketing and retail. As someone uncertain about which aspect of the industry they ultimately hoped to enter, I found this broad spectrum incredibly useful and discovered, after working with students from the university's other fashion degrees, it was something quite special to the Buying & Merchandising course.

All assessments had a strong academic grounding however creative elements were present. For someone with a strong creative inclination, I would have preferred a greater balance of academic and creative aspects, with particular consideration to incorporating more digital skill development, however that is pure preference so I cannot fault the course on this front.

I would say the teaching was both a strength and a weakness of the course. Tutors were generally enthusiastic and all had industry background which really helped to inform & enrich their teaching. If you were really struggling or had personal issues which were effecting your studies, tutors and the university in general were incredibly helpful and supportive. There were however times where the courses delivery could have been clearer or explored in greater depth, particularly in final year where it at times felt like topics were introduced but not actually taught. The level of help or time tutors were willing to give to students varied quite a lot from tutor to tutor. Some were incredibly helpful and encouraging whereas others were more vague and inflexible. At the end of the day though, all tutors knew their stuff and, as long as you apply yourself, you really can gain a lot from them.

I would certainly recommend the course for anyone looking to enter the fashion industry, especially if they're uncertain as to what role they ultimately hope to progress to. As one of the few fashion business courses outside of London, it is also a great course in terms of job prospects, with recruiters and industry professionals regularly visiting the university and tutors keeping you constantly up to date on what jobs are available.

It is a very good degree that is widely recognised as a great achievement to many employers. At MMU, the quality of teaching is excellent, the support provided is first class and the university hosts a range of events to give students the opportunity to network and gain a better understanding in the legal sector.

The teaching through the course has been fairly inconsistent. Some tutor have been fantastic, engaging and willing to help students. Others have a poor attitude and simply read off power points. The same can be said of on-line resources, some tutors go the extra mile to make sure there is a wealth of material and a clear course outline but others don't even respond to email let alone provide resources for their students. Overall my degree has been incredibly worthwhile and I have certainly learnt many new skills.

International business is a course that has a wide spectrum of content that can seem overwhelming but the more you learn and see it link together is extraordinary. The international aspect is also interesting on its own because you get to see how business runs around the world and the separate cultures and economies and the history. It is also a great degree for a career as you learn all parts of business.
