This is a third year module all about the psychology behind education and how it affects different aspects of education. The course content is quite interesting and fun, however it is only two hours a week late on a Friday afternoon. Also the essay and coursework hasn't even been mentioned by the lecturer yet meaning that you can't get started on the essay until quite late and everything is a bit last minute.

Fantastic module, very very interesting, Choose this module because it was 100% cw and I hate exams, I never thought that i would enjoy it as much as i did, Practicals were involved in this module and enjoying making a portfolio on different functional food products.

The course is very focuses on the education side of things as opposed to counciling side of things which it does advertise that it covers. It is a good course for people who want to get into teaching and a good course to do a joint honours in, however it isn't very good for anything else really. The course is also £9000 pound and year and the maximum amount of contact time I have ever had in a week is 9 hours, I am now in my final term of third year and currently only have 4 hours worth of lecture time.

My degree content varies greatly. Some modules it will be easy to get a 1st class honors but then for the exact same work but a different module and lecturer I will struggle to get a 2:1. Lecturers will insist that help with work willonly be given if students seek it, but more than most of the time when I take work to get help or email questions not a great deal of help is given. The excuse given is usually around not being able to read work because its coursework or it's 'independent' so I should just do it myself. I LOVE psychology with a passion, and I believe I am probably a minority in the class,in the sense that I would really like to carry on with Psychology after my degree. The only reason I would rate my degree as more than a two star is because every lecture is interesting but when I get work back, near enough everytime the grade usually does not reflect my commitment to work and my long nights in the library.

I thoroughly enjoy my primary education lectures which we have on every subject. The lectures are fun and the lecturers are very freindly and helpful. For our course we have to complete a school experience placement each year which is the best bit about the course. It enables us to get the most experience of what it is like to be a teacher and so prepares us to the fullest for our future careers.

Overall I enjoy my course, however I do think the degree is very difficult and more scientific than I expected. The lecturers are not always helpful when it comes to help with deadlines but are very good and understanding when family matters and other issues occur.

The History course at St Mary's is an excellent example of how history fits into the wider course of current topics, both within and outside the sphere of academic historical inquiry. The range of modules on the course appeal to all facets of personal historical interest.

The structure and teaching of the course allows one to develop their own ideas and become confident not only in their writing, but also in ones arguments and ideas.

Overall, History at St Mary's reveals a fresh and smart approach to history and the power of history to grow personally and academically.

The course is good at setting students up for the world of teaching, however if you wanted to go into any other career the course wouldn't be very suitable because it only really talks about schools and education. It is a good course for if you have children or jobs because there is barely any contact time actually in university.

I loved every moment of my three years studying at St. Mary's! I was in Doyle halls in my first year and I loved living on campus and made some amazing friends! The nightlife is great, you can get a bus-to-club service into Kingston for £5. The annual summer ball at the end of each year is always a hit.  Because it is such a small university there is an amazing sense of community and you make so many friends and end up knowing your entire year, which is rare.

Feel there was a lot of overlap from previously taught material in this module. One of the two lecturers was terrible. Perhaps interesting to some, but not when you've done most of it before.
