The degree is a good course. The first year allows you to have a taster of all the courses on offer to allow you to decide whether you are on the correct course.

The theology course consists of different modules. Each year we learn something different. We learn about Christianity and then we go on to learning about Islam. It's has a very interesting structure and needs to be more fun and detailed. It seems very brief to what we learn and we like to see more resources. It's does need improving and tutorials to help the student understand what is expected of them. There is lack of information on how to set up and do different assignments resulting in failure. It needs to be more interesting and something we enjoy.

The course has been very relevant and useful in relation to my chosen career path. The content was great and they often went above what was needed. We had a lot of guest speakers and chances to ask them questions which really helped. The modules were also very informative and majority were interesting. Some lectures treat you like you're a school child which is very annoying but that is only a minority of lecturers. Majority are very good, hardworking nice people. The assessment is OK. The feedback can be a bit vague and lectures often want assignments done their specific way which varies between lectures so check for what each lecturer wants.Resources are good but rarely available, low amounts of book copies and books that are shown in stock are not there. The E-resources are fantastic but take some practice to get used to!Placements are perfect. They plan the best ones for their students and only have links to schools the university has vetted and comunicates with regularly. Each step of your placement is monitored and evaluated and you have regular meetings to see how you're doing. It's great to have that support when you're out there on your own.I'd recommend the course especially as they've revamped it for the new intake. Also Newman is well known as an excellent university for churning out great teachers!
