1st Year

Attending University had changed my life, my first day was epic, and was excited for the years to come. The support I was provided with was amazing, nothing like college where teachers would teach from a text book and tell us to do the research ourselves. Whenever I had struggled in university, I knew my tutor was only an email away. For a student who wasn’t confident enough, I am now thinking about enrolling onto my Masters Degree, and then progress onto my PhD.

University has given me a new aspect to life, knowing that nothing is enough if you just settle, you have to find your ladder of passion and keep climbing even if you have reached the top, build another, nothing is impossible, you are your own boss, believe in yourself and watch your dreams come true.

This is unit is definitely the most enjoyable out of the 3 years (for me anyway). This module gives every student in the year to apply their skills that they acquired in the first year to real life clients. 5 hours are undertaken in the university clinic, offering massage treatments to clients. Another 20 hours must be completed on a external placement to undertake pitch side first aid that the university organises based on preferences a student has chosen on a form. They include placements such as alongside the university sports teams, Luton town rugby club, St. Albans hockey club, Tottenham Hotspur football academy. Great opportunity to make contacts also for possible future jobs

I didn't really have a least favourite module as they all had good aspects. However this module was probably the most challenging and a lot of prior knowledge was assumed. This module was taught in the first semester, but could be understood better after learning the modules taught in the second semester. The first significant piece of coursework of the year was an experiment and lab report for this module which was quite difficult, but guidance was given.

I studied this unit in my second year and is still my absolute favourite. It encouraged my love for HR, people and wanting to help people progress. The unit really helped me understand how I was likely to fit within a business, within a team and how I was able to understand others. My tutor Sarah was absolutely amazing and would not have passed the unit without her.

Excellent unit structure with a lot of interactive tutorial session. 60 percent for assignments and 40 percent for exams. And with the exams there is a compulsory question and a choice of 1 from 5 questions. There are past papers to practice your written exam skills. Also tutors are always available to give extra help and support to help the students. The course is intellectually stimulating and has many real life applications

I feel this topic is taught very poor. Emerging technologies should be an exciting lecture going into detail on latest innovations in technology but instead it's just basic information with the majority of the time covering nothing actually relavent. We was taught one time how to use google...

This is a very good and importand module for the students. The contents are vital to enhance your skill as a potential engineer in the future and contents are enjoyable too. It teaches you how to plan and carry out the tasks at an industry and calculate the optimum profit/loss scenarios for a project. In overall, the module is well taught by credible lecturers who has several years of experience in industry.

This was an exceptional module as it really focuses on how a business is run from the rent to the services or product they offer. It teaches you how accounting for every penny spent in the company and help a business understand where money is being spent incorrectly or not to its full potential. However, the lack of a teacher made it hard to get to grips with. The sub-modules were not hard once you understood them but the lack of support really made it difficult; changes in lecturers is never ideal as one teaches it differently from the other. However, this was an enjoyable module

All the topics covered whilst studying for the degree all accumulate to make you a great sports therapist. Not only are the essentials learnt, external qualifications are also earned that are compulsory and are free or can be undertaken at a hugely discounted price. Every task involves working in groups, which means everyone across the course and different years are friendly with one another and we are all very close. The staff take the feedback they get from students very seriously, and will improve or change any thing that students wish to (within reason). They really show us that they are not working for the university, but for us. Resources and support are of high quality in the department and also across the university. I cannot fault anything about this course, and it's so enjoyable!

The course overall is enoyable, it opens your eyes to how vast the world of sports therapy can be branching from maintenance to rehabilitation of an individual. The university are responsive to the type of feedback that students provide making amendments where both students and staff fell is appropriate for example adding extra practical time for seminars that student have required more time in. My own personal negative would be the type of feedback, Although feedback for coursework is given at times it may not be as through as hoped also it can be very specific the the module it is hard to carry feedback from one paper exam into another paper exam. Apart from that staff show a great amount of support and enthusiasm.
