University for the Creative Arts

I study Fashion Management and Marketing at the Epsom campus. The course itself is one of a kind! The tutors and lecturers are helpful and kind. They have your best interests at heart and are always available through emails or at the campus. I highly recommend this course if you are interested in the business side of fashion and are looking to learn the most you can from one course.

Love the university and the community of all the staff. Really happy with my choice and look forward to seeing out the rest of my education here.

I am currently studying the 4 year fashion design course and University of Creative Arts, Rochester. The university itself is amazing and I have learned so much already. The staff are all really nice and there are a lot of opportunities to try out different skills. The downside is the location of the university as Medway doesn’t have much of a ‘student life’ atmosphere. Although I feel like I am not having as much fun as some of my friends in other universities it does mean I’m more focused on my work so its either a win or a lose depending on how you look at it.

Great university, fun, always learning new things and always helpful when needed. Would highly recommend to anyone who has a passion for being creative as you can freely show this in your work.

The university for ge creative arts campus is a good size and has lots of facilities library studios computer suites and a canteen. The staff are helpful and you can contact them. There are a good range of courses. The food in the canteen is quite expensive.

My personal experience at UCA has been a mixed bag of highs and lows. The accommodation felt like a prison cell with white painted breeze block walls however they are building new accommodation. For a creative university you would expect a little more... creativity when it came to decorating. The university itself however is incredibly creative with SU events. There has been various theme nights with acts and amazing decor. The SU is also the cheapest place to buy drinks in Farnham. Now Farnham is a whole different ball game... It's very weird to have a uni full of expressive, non-binary, non-conforming young political artists in a white middle class community. The elderly locals do not like students. Over the summer during Farnham carnival there was black face protested by students, ignored or encouraged by locals. The university and course I'm on (acting & performance) have been brilliant, it's just a shame to experience them in a negative environment.

Epsom campus is poor, accommodation is very expensive and when there's a problem the accommodation office aren't at all considerate that you're a student paying top dollar for a crummy flat. I really enjoy my course (hand embroidery) which is off campus.

The campus is always clean. Facilities are quite convenient. I wish the money that they get went to other stuff, like helping students with renting clothes or models or photographers to create excellent content. My course is the best in my university, taught very well. However, I wish they were considering to make the timetable more adjustable to students.

University for the creative arts has great courses. In addition to this, the tutors that teach the courses are very helpful and are artists themselves which is very good. Some of the courses could use a little more, needs more facilities.

Campus of UCA, Canterbury is really cool. They have provided students with updated technologies. The course I am doing is MA Interior Design, and i found it quite interesting till now. Learning about construction detail, joinery methods etc. to built a structure.

This uni has fully supported my artistic and creative goals and have helped me towards them. Allowing me to practice with the medium that I wish to use.

Staff are friendly and helpful, they support and help to shape you into the maker you will become. The facilities are incredible and the whole atmosphere is creative.

The campus was a great size and I made a great deal of friends, however, they didn't care too much for the students well being as I have had several tutors criticise my work in a harsh way without any compliments. However, this all depends on the department you studied in. (This is UCA Rochester)

I find the general uni a nice environment and well equipped. My course has a few rough patches however generally it is taught well and helps me to learn a lot. I think the uni could do with a better or bigger student union as there are hardly any events ever organised and therefore it's not as easy to make large groups of friends from the uni.

I may be biased but the university creative arts has been nothing but outstanding - especially within Fashion Management and Marketing. The course has allowed me to flourish beyond my own beliefs. Each and every member of staff goes above and beyond to provide guidance, whilst working around the clock, taking serious care in each and every student on the course. As the staff are so invested within all of the students, a very positive and beneficial working environment is created.

The university offers a wide range of facilities within the arts area! Ranging from studio space, machinery such as sewing machines, laser cutters etc! This means our creative ideas are never compromised.

Teachers and support staff are amazing however more facilities needed more sewing machines more equipment that the course leaders expect to see like better printers, fabric printing machine etc.

Good facilities for textiles course. Well considered topics for projects. Could do with more support from tutors and more 1 to 1 time with them. Canteen has good food but way overpriced for students. Good library and offers good opportunities

The course is ok but very unorganised. The equipment is often damaged and we are never given constructive feedback on our work it is only ever personal from the tutors and is negative. The course leader is horrible to students and bullies them.

The fact that my University is open means that I can still work and learn at the same time! The courses are well set and my tutor is great and friendly!

UCA Rochester campus is overall a great university experience. The place is well designed indoors, a spectacular view from the cafe floor, which has just been renowed, a 9-floor plan serving each course or related courses its own storey, 4 lower and 4 upper floors, light, bright brick walls, huge windows and a lot of light which helps in the learning process. They've got several clubs, Student Union takes big part in improving the university experience for students. I'd say they've done a terrific job so far. Academic-wise the ratings keep growing, one of top 20 in the UK within arts categories. The staff are helpful, always open and available for advice, very motivating and pushing students to their full potential which is what we need. Students come from everywhere, international and people are always open to communication. The one thing I know people have complained about is that the library does not stay open 24/7 and only works 4 hours on Sundays, when you need this study time the most. But other than that, an amazing experience, a lot of freedom and I have gained a lot of knowledge over the years. Definately would recommend!

UCA has 4 different campuses spread around the south of the UK. The Epsom campus is small and really convenient. It’s only a 10 minute walk to the station and is only a 30 minute train ride into London. As cohorts are small, the Lecturers know you personally and give you their undivided attention.
