The degree is an excellent combination of forensic skills and other scientific investigation skills which allow can allow a person not only to get a job in forensics but also other aspects of science. The forensics side of the course is very hands on - a crime scene house is used for all lectures relating to CSI where you are taught how to lift fingerprints and so on. There are full forensic cases available including Nikon camera's for each person to use. This is then assessed using a novel way - Major Incident. This is a 2 day event where people from different disciplines (police, paramedics, CSI and also includes real gold command, and silver command from the local constabulary) come together to put together a real scenario for everyone to work together on and show case their skills. The other aspect of this course is where different experiments are carried out in the labs so that you are able to learn new skills which could be transferred to an alternate job.

Although the teaching isn't the best, this means that you have to look up alot of injuries in your own time, which means a lot of reading and watching youtube videos to understand the injuries and the structures around it. It is the most practical module of the course, which means it is very hands on with others, this allows to to work on an actual human being and assess other people's bodies.

The course has been very practical and has provided me with lots of theory and pedagogical knowledge that will be applied whilst teaching. There has been many opportunities for placement and extra courses that can be taken to boost our CV.However I think the course could be improved by having more opportunities to teach a lesson and analyse it for example so that we know what exactly we have to include. The library fines also hinder learning as it discourages those to take out the books they need. Students struggle with money enough anyway and the library charging large amounts of money for something that is supposed to aid our studies is not practical at all.Overall the course has been very good and working in teams with different people helped to share ideas. However the course could do with some adjustments and so could the university.

Religious studies is a valuable course. I have thoroughly enjoyed it and I have learnt so much that I never knew. Religious studies is more than learning about Christianity, Islam and Judaism. We learn about eastern religions, religions you may have never heard of. We learn about philosophy, sociology and psychology. The education I have received I have really loved. My lecturers have been fair and helpful. If I have ever needed help it has been given to me. I've loved my three years of this course.

The physiotherapy degree is challenging but rewarding at cumbria university. It is a small course group meaning the tutors have time to work with you one and one basis. However, due to this small environment there are elements of unorganisation such as, last minute timetable changes, mix ups on the online portal (blackboard) and exams placed too close together. However, in all cumbria uni is friendly, small, has a good community and a joy to attend.

It gives a great opportunity of working with the public in your own accord. Therefore meaning, you get the chance to build up you knowledge of massage and injuries in the first year, then get in contact with clubs, clinics etc. to get great experience to develop your portfolio. I would say it is also a very independent course that requires you to look up at lot of things for yourself, which I personally think to be extremely helpful. However, because it is so independent, there can be a lack of support from the lecturers.

Very good course with supportive and understanding staff. Content was relevant and taught in an engaging manner. Structure at times needed further arranging but at conclusion it feels like all was taught at the right time and with plenty feedback the entire time through the degree.

Good degree to take, but not much use of the main building when having lecturers.Good course to take if you wish to have smaller classes, and dislike exams as its all coursework and work experience based. The lecturers have a lot of contacts to gain work experience which is good for your cv, and future upon completion on the degree.Covers all areas of event management like; finance, health and safety, principles of event management, site design and delivery, marketing, practical projects (organising your own events) and more!Enjoyably!

It is an excellent course with lectures and seminars in each discipline with leading experts. The chemistry and biology is all forensic based rather than standard. The forensic aspect of it is amazing - with a crime scene house, and a major incident where everything learnt is put into practice. The course not only teaches you what it's supposed to, but goes above and beyond and gives you opportunities to do a career ahead award, allowing you to learn new skills. It's definitely a good course.

The University of Cumbria is indeed highly recommended. The facilities provided by the university give you access to everything you need to help develop and further your career also allowing you to gain more advanced skills. The course tutors are brilliant and help and advice can be found throughout the university. There is always someone to talk to or tutors can always be available via email. My course has really pushed me as a performer and allowed me to become more confident and had opened more job opportunities up for myself.
