The University of Warwick

I am doing a master by Research in Classics and Ancient History. I am satisfied with some opportunities that I had as a student and with the knowledge I gained throughout the course. However, the library does not offer me sufficient resources to conduct my research appropriately. The course is quite disorganized and some of the staff are not approachable at all.

The campus is nice and there seems to be a friendly atmosphere so far. I enjoy the events the get put on and there are so many clubs to join. However, there seems the be a number of administration problems going on. The universities response to events such as involving the group chat punishments, burglaries on campus and the release of the exam timetable are just to name a few. Other than this I really enjoy my course, most of the staff and the facilities on offer.

Campus is really nice which looks lovely in the summer. Some of the internals of buildings are a bit outdated and not much spending gone into it. Teaching for maths is great but not so much for computer science. I feel money is spent on some useful items around the university such as some sculptures but in general, the university is a nice university to be at.

The course I studied, history, was well organised and intellectually challenging. The lecturers and seminar tutors were always helpful. The humanities facility needs re doing, and we don’t have a common room, but that would be one of my main criticisms.

Wonderful community, campus, nightlife and academics. Highly recommend to upcoming students, great environment to make good friendships and highly ranked as well

Library is open 24 hours, Economics professors and tutors are always there for you with great passion for their subjects. The new sports hall that is opening soon is also one of the biggest in the UK and the SU is strong, fighting for students’ rights.

This is a huge campus with amazing views. Very spacious and loads of greenery. Very different from the schools in London because there isn't much space there. Close to city centre as well

Nice campus, certain buildings are far to walk to but there's a free shuttlebus but not made clear how to use it. Good facilities, library open 24/7, helpful staff.

Christmas/end of term events. Other universities have balls/formals to celebrate and collectively get together before going off. Given everyone lives together on campus, throughout the year more could be organised for the students.

Great campus with almost all buildings within bearable walking distance. I take Economics and Warwick is established as one of the leading faculty in Economics, where the lecturers are great and classes are well structured. The syllabus is thought-provoking and exciting.

The University is located on the outskirts of the city yet allows one to have a great campus experience. The campus is well equipped with within budget restaurants, a theatre to serve as an entertainment point as well as the Terrace Bar for casual drinks.

I really enjoy my course and find the lectures and teaching very interesting. Favourite thing about the uni is the campus, it is like a little town and I miss living in halls.

Great campus university that incorporates a good mix of social life with hard work. A lot of integration occurs and cultural diversity through different societies. Could do with a few more restaurants on campus and cheaper bus fares.

Great uni for academics and meeting smart yet fun people. I study PPE here and the interdisciplinary nature of my degree is great and something that is encouraged my Warwick. In fact, they run interdisciplinary modules and I'm taking one on Climate Change and one on Computer Modelling- both have been really insightful. I also had the chance to take a year abroad, which I took by going to Milan. My year out was an incredible experience and would highly recommend it.

The campus is quite spread out and a bus ride away from the nearest city. It's a nice campus with good shops, bars and restaurants. The facilities in the life sciences department are good with decent food too, the course is very tough however with lots of work and lots to learn. Constant exams, assignments and learning is hard. They capture the lectures so you can go back and watch them which is really helpful.

Excellent university with world class teaching. The campus is very nice and contains many facilities including a large library. There could be more social options or catering options available, or even a supermarket on campus as the walk to tesco is quite long

The campus is located in Coventry Due to its isolation it can afford to keep a huge campus. It would take you 20-30 minutes to walk from one end of the campus to the other. Its huge, but most of the buildings are spaced out. Warwick campus is also close integrated with nature. So it's a nice peaceful place walk across campus. Student union is very popular through out the week. I am pretty sure theres something going on at least 5 times a week. This must be a major cash earner for the uni. Students tend to come together and this is where they come together on most nights of the weeks. As for the course, Warwick had one of the highest teaching standard in UK. In the Economics faculty, lecturer delivers material pretty good. Sports facilities is excellent. They have few huge pitches and a sport center.

Beautiful campus, it'd nice to sit on the piazza. There is a great students environment, lots of societies. Rootes was the more characteristic and lively accommodation. it has such a chill environment but people work hard still. You'll make lifetime friends and go on amazing outings and trips around the world- just get involved and you'll see.

I have recently started my PhD in Warwick, after being here for 4 years. Those 4 years were the best years of my life. I made lots of new friends and even though there is a lot of work (especially in a mathematics and statistics degree) there is still time to go out and enjoy life. The SU is a cool place to chill, and there are some nice places to eat around campus. Overall I highly recommend coming to Warwick.

The English department at Warwick is very good when it comes to things like organisation, inclusivity, etc. The rest of the university is less consistent. The business school is on central campus but remains very separate from Warwick as a whole (in terms of which students can access the building, how merchandising works, etc.) The campus is always being expanded and lots of new buildings are being built, but these are almost entirely for engineering or maths students, or for people outside of the university (e.g. for conferences, which for some reason then take place in the older faculty buildings). Humanities students are all placed in one building (so English students get one corridor, History students get another corridor, etc.) though a new Humanities building will be built in the next few years (in comparison, STEM students get new individual subject buildings regularly and Engineering pretty much has its own village at this point). Money is therefore not split equally between subjects despite us all paying the same tuition fees (English students are also expected to pay for four books a week, for example, because the library cannot afford more than five copies of the same book, whilst STEM students have lab equipment included in their fees). The careers service for English is very, very useful but the more general, university-wide careers service (for things like CV checks) have been known to be quite useless and not up to scratch. Mental health services are getting worse (longer waiting times, new counsellors who aren't always as good as the previous ones). The Students' Union is quite useless overall. You get lots of people doing nothing all year around and then a massive surge of people turning up during election time, telling you everything that they're supposedly going to fix (e.g. every year someone always says they'll run a bus campaign, but representatives of the SU have also said they can't do anything about buses because it's up to the individual companies). So overall, the English department is good, the city is quite gray and not very nice looking, its permanent citizens don't like having students around and the university itself is quite inconsistent in the way it treats students from different subject areas. I'd stay for the English department though.

Warwick is a really safe and welcoming environment. The tutors are fantastic and in many cases famous experts in their fields. Th Students' Union is active and the campus facilities are incredible. The learning facilities are fantastic, especially the library and the support available throughout the university is unmatched. My only complaints about the university are that there is not enough independent learning space for all the students at exam time and the campus is very isolated from city life.

Warwick Business School is one of the top 5 business schools in the UK. Catering to a lot of international students, which makes it a popular destination for highly academic students. Furthermore, WBS as a whole focuses on a lot more besides academic knowledge like soft skills necessary for jobs. It is the top destination for companies to recruit students.
