Just because Glastonbury is taking a year off doesn’t mean you should! What’s better than chilling in a campsite with your mates and getting to see some brill acts while you’re at it?

TRNSMT

  • When: 29th June, 30th June, 1st July, 6th July, 8th July

  • Where: Glasgow Green

  • Headliners: Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, Liam Gallagher, Stereophonics, Queen + Adam Lambert

A replacement for T in the park that had success through the roof last year and it’s back at it again this year with a Class-A line-up that puts the other festivals to shame.

Rock Werchter, Belgium

  • When: 5th July – 8th July

  • Where: Festival Park Werchter, Belgium

  • Headliners: Gorillaz, Queens of the Stone Age, The Killers, Pearl Jam, Arctic Monkey

Fancy taking a trip overseas to make your festival experience even more amazing? You might notice that quite a few headliners reoccur on this list. Unbelievably, if you live in London then a flight to both Rock Werchter will take the same amount of time as a flight to TRNSMT in Scotland (both about one hour and ten minutes!).

Bilbao BBK Live

  • When: 12th July – 14th July

  • Where: Bilbao, Spain

  • Headliners: Florence and the Machine, Alt-J, Childish Gambino, The XX, Gorillaz

  • When: 8th August – 15th August

  • Where: Obudai-sziget, Budapest, Hungary

  • Headliners: Kendrick Lamar, Arctic Monkeys, Mumford and Sons, Gorillaz, Lana Del Rey, Dua Lipa, Shawn Mendes

It’s probably the biggest festival outside of the UK so there is a good chance you have already heard of it; a lot of my friends even went last year. The line-up is phenomenal and includes festival favourites for 2018 Arctic Monkeys and Gorillaz and is surely not one to be missed.

Citadel

  • When: 15th July

  • Where: Gunnersbury Park, London

  • Headliners: Tame Impala, CHVRCHES, Leon Bridges

A more casual one-day event keeps a focus on the music and instead of struggling to find your tent at the end of the day, you’ve got the struggle of finding your way home! With a UK festival exclusive from Tame Impala this one is a definite must-see.

Community

  • When: 1st July

  • Where: Finsbury Park, London

  • Headliners: Two Door Cinema Club, The Vaccines, You Me At Six, Circa Waves

  • Another one-day festival celebrating the ‘best in new music’ and it's bigger and better than last year, they’ve added a second stage! Being a UK festival exclusive, Two Door Cinema Club fans would be a fool to miss this one. (Catch me fighting my way to the barrier of main stage the entire day).

  • Where: Madrid, Spain

Lovebox

  • Where: Gunnersbury Park, London

  • Headliners: Childish Gambino, Skepta, N.E.R.D, Sza, The Internet
