Deciding what to pack for a festival isn't as easy as it sounds. Will it be wet or dry, hot or cold, muddy or grassy?! Will you arrive only to find that you remembered your camera but forgot your charger? Here's our list of all the most important things you need to pack for a festival so you can avoid that sinking feeling when you realise you forgot (basically) everything...

  • Glitter - lots of it (find some bio-degradable glitter here)

  • Wellies (enter this competition to win a pair of Hunter wellies)

  • Sunglasses

  • Baby wipes

  • Roll-on deodorant (spray on is often banned)

  • Antiperspirant wipes - you can combine the two above and get baby wipes with deodorant in them which are incredible - find some here

  • Festival ticket (to avoid sitting outside gazing longingly into the festival that you're not allowed to enter)

  • A reusable water bottle (there will be refillable taps on site)

  • Tent (make sure you check everything’s in the tent bag before you set off - it might be a good idea to do a test set-up before you leave)

  • Sleeping bag

  • pillow

  • Sleeping mat

  • Toilet roll (and lots of it - the dingy portable toilets at a festival are far from luxury)

  • A warm jumper (regardless of the weather forecast, it often gets cold at night)

  • A rain coat (come on, it wouldn’t be the first time British summer was a little wet...)

  • Suncream

  • Any required medication

  • Toiletries

  • ID

  • Cash

  • Credit/ debit card

  • Contraceptive (if applicable)

  • A bin-bag for rubbish and a bin-bag for dirty clothes (especially if it's going to be muddy)

  • Food (check what's allowed on the festival website)

  • Alcohol (check the allowed amount first)

  • Substitutions for your glass items (e.g. put perfume in a plastic container)

  • Torch (so you don’t feel around aimlessly in your tent)

  • Phone

  • Charger

  • Toothbrush

  • Toothpaste

  • Towel

  • Dry shampoo

  • A bottle opener if you’re taking in any bottles

  • Earplugs

  • Mini speaker

  • Socks

  • Underwear

  • Clothes

  • Moisturiser

  • Hand sanitizer (this will be a blessing once you've experienced the festival toilets)

  • Hairbrush

  • Bobbles

  • Portable charger

  • Mirror (try and find a plastic one so it doesn't get confiscated - you can find one here)

Now it's time to head to the festival without the fear of having left the most important things at home...
