As an a-level student that took biology, chemistry, and maths, the decision to do this degree was quite daunting, due to my lack of experience in the subject. However, it turned out to be the best decision I could have made, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the doing the foundation degree, so much so, I am doing the top up third year to gain a full degree in culinary arts.

The lecturers are all extremely knowledgeable, due to their industry experience, and I feel able to email or talk to them at any time, about any topic, and they are able to answer my questions. The class sizes are small, about 15 people, so all the lecturers know you by name and can really help you personally.

The modules are well thought out, and they actually take into account the feedback given at the end of the module in the review, to help improve the course for the next year.

The only negative part is the fact that the course is based at the Buxton campus, which, although a beautiful place to live, is quite small, and feels left behind the rest of the uni, with regards to societies and student union presence.
