The facilities are amazing Staff are Lovely Decent size room and bathroom Social experience good
Exceptional position in regards to walking to lectures. Can be from front door to lecture room anywhere on campus within 5 minutes. Great banter with cleaners and very relaxed atmosphere
AMAZING! Great personal and communal spaces. Fab location. Double room with a big window that really draws the light in. I loved living here! Games room and mini library are available too.
Overall very nice accommodation with modern design, nice facilities and a location close to everything on campus. The clothes washing and drying is quite expensive however at ~£5 per wash+dry. The showers are good but if anything a little cramped, bathroom facilities in general are good. Overall The Courtyard is a fairly expensive option compared to others available but it provides convenience, especially as all bills etc. are covered in the price, and having 8 people per flat gives you chance to form a solid group of friends in first year.
The rooms in the Courtyars are Great rooms with lots of storage space and en-suites. There is someone on the reception desk 24 hours everyday and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is great being on campus so its quick and easy to get to lectures. Any issues are addressed very promptly once reported. There are social spaces around the reception area as well as a movie room and a games room which has a table tennis table, pool table and table football. However in the year I was there I did not see anyone use this room. Due to high security measures it's harder to get to know people outside or the 7 others in your flat. This is because you have to use your student card to get into reception, you individual block, and then your flat and only those in the flat can get in (same with each block). There are on site laundry services available which is convenient but is a little pricy. Overall it was a good place for 1st year but I would not want to stay for future years.
Amazing accommodation for first year, it's on campus, every room has an en suite which is handy. The kitchen's are a big size, I lived in a flat of 8 people and there were 4 fridges, so plenty of space for food. Very cosy and welcoming place. One of the negatives is the washing maschine facilities, up to about £5 for a wash and dry, and a lot of the times the clothes still came out damp. Overall worth it for the price
Good location very close to uni (literally a 2 minute walk to lectures). Although not close to Newland (the Main Street) There is a lot of storage space in the rooms but not a whole lot of space in the room itself. There is an onsuite which was really nice to have, although maintenance needed to change the shower heads 1 every couple of months so it was hit and miss as to whether you'd have a power shower or a drip. We had cleaners that would clean the kitchen every weekday (although they weren't very good and would just refuse to clean if there was some stuff on the side. The WiFi was relatable it only went down a couple of times over the year, and there were lots of sociable areas across the courtyard. I don't think it's great value for money because although everything was "new" things broke all the time, at one point we had 1 oven between 8 people, and the maintenance team were very slow at fixing things. On top of that you pay a lot more money than the other accommodations and you don't get a washing machine included in the price (like at Taylor court) so you have to pay £5!! Pet wash/dry which ultimately is like an extra £10 a week.
The facilities are good, the bedrooms are fairly small but have a good amount of storage, and the beds are comfy. The social aspect has been amazing and I have made my best friends at uni through my halls. The fact that we get our kitchen inspected every day and get passive aggressive notes if it is the tiniest bit messy.
Great rooms, with plenty of storage space. Ensuites are good too. Location on campus is great as is the 24 hour reception service. And issues are dealt with promptly. It's a bit annoying having to use your student card to get into reception them into the block then into your flat. The mattresses are also rather uncomfortable.
Location is good and very close Facilities are good however it is annoying that we can only collect post after 5pm Room is nice and so is kitchen it is annoying when we keep on getting left notes that we will be fined if we don't do washing up
Love everything apart from that people from different block when they get sick they would pass it on to other blocks. I would definitely stay in my room during winter. With summer all different students come together have bbq it is pretty amazing
Really nice clean room. Big kitchen with a good tv. Lots of social space to get to know each other. All rooms have ensuits which is really helpful when you’re in your first year of uni
In my opinion, The Courtyard is a very comfortable and safe accommodation with excellent proximity to the university and it’s facilities. The communal social areas such as the games room are great spaces to socialise and wind down outside of the flat. The flats themselves are very well set out and are warm and cosy throughout the winter. My only complaint would be that keysurf WiFi is not the most reliable source of WiFi that I’ve ever used and has a tendency to stop working every now and again.
Very modern, great storage. Mattresses are very thin and uncomfy. Bit too much security makes it a nuisance to get in and out.
Everything is ideal! It’s close to campus, there are all facilities you would ever need close by, the rooms are well laid out and have lots of storage and it is right next to asylum what more could you want?!
The accommodation is great. It's on campus and near shops. WiFi capabilities depend on the block that your in as each block apparently has their own server. So speeds will vary. The downside is the laundry room as it's quite expensive and doesn't quite do a good enough job
I. Think. That. My. Accommodation. Is. The. Best. At. The. University. It. Has. A. Very. Good. Location
Awesome halls, great for socialising and good that it's located on campus for ease of getting to lectures.
Excellent location - 2 minute walk to the student union and central uni. There’s plenty of kitchen space and cooking facilities. The rooms are spacious and have loads of storage space available
perfect location because it is right at uni, the ensuite bathrooms are gorgeous and the kitchens have so much space and everything you need. love it
There is a lot of storage space. The flatmates are very loud on the ground floor in block d. However, my flatmates are not as loud and thry are very welcoming
