When I arrived the room was not gully cleaned. I have never seen a cleaner which you supoosedly get within your rent. Lots of rats running around the smoking area and creckheads looking for cigarret butts (there is a homeless shelter a minute away from the halls). Moreover, things break and it takes ages for them to fix it (have very few contractists for all of the halls). If it wasn for the social life (500 people live there), the free bus, location, and stuff, I would have even rated it with one star.

Countless maintenance issues and lots of rats/ silverfish. Flats basic and in need of modernisation. Rent ridiculously high for what it is. Look elsewhere! The owner ‘CLV’ are also really unhelpful and unethical.

Great location, facilities aren't as good as others nearby however still very good. Staff are very friendly too!

Good location, rooms average size, kitchen ok. Some flats have a different (and worse layout) which I ended up on the bad end. Despite paying the same some flats are bigger and the room sizes vary. Had issue with clear bugs coming out of drains. Maintenance is poor (took 9 days to fix a oven, no hob or grill. Called a specialist only to clarify it was the oven fuse not the actual oven)! Got charged for items that were missing from the inventory in my room despite not having it to begin with and raising this issue when moving in. My bed also was very uncomfortable and when compared to my flat mates my mattress was very thin and old (bottomed out when sitting on it and I’m only 70kg!). Wish I lived somewhere else.

The rooms are a reasonable size, as well as the community areas within a flat. The whole halls experience is definetly recommended, it allows you to meet new people and create relationships that will be vital to your uni life, as well as flat parties and pre drinks you’ll meet so many people who you’ll click with

Cranborne was by far one of the main reasons I enjoyed freshers. The close distance from home to town made everything a lot more enjoyable and easy. The people you meet there and the environment is just so memorable. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. For me, coming back from a night out took you a 5 minute walk (10 if you stop for a pizza or a cheeky kebab). Having the freedom to just cross over the courtyard to another person’s flat, or up the lift to your mates’ was amazing. The proximity to Purbeck and Lyme made it great too.

Good location as is close to shops for food and drink also quite close to town. It's quite dirty and the showers either are freezing cold or scorching hot. They have multiplw problems like turning the water and internet off.

great location, maintenance isn't great. the walls are thin and you can hear other people easily. Building works going on nearby early in the morning which is a disturbance.

The staff are disorganised and occasionally rude. Faults and fixes are not attended to quickly and there is little communication

Room is too small and not great value for money, sofas in kitchen are the most uncomfortable things ever but the social life makes it fun

Rats common in smoking area, constant fire alarms due to poor ventilation in kitchens, but 24/7 reception and enthusiastic res life team are advantages

The halls itself is a fun vibrant place full of people who are welcoming and always up for going out! My only downside would be the lack of extractor fans in the kitchens and the seemingly never ending early morning fire alarms! But if you want a halls that’s fun and full of people who always want to have a good time this is the halls for you

Cranborne has seen me make many friendships that will last, although my flat has been robbed and my belongings have not be financially replaced. Safety is an issue at cranborne and the staff don't care to help much.

Overall I great halls of residence, a few minor issues that could be sorted but the rooms are good and the shared living spaces are well set out

There are a lot of fun people here however I wish there was a better communal area. Also there is no extractor fan in the kitchen which results in fire alarms nearly everyday. Additionally the showers are never a good temperature they are either boiling hot or freezing cold.

Dirty, rats everywhere, homeless people come on our property. Always loud, LOTS of building work going on so can’t sleep. My room literally vibrates. Res Life isn’t good. Heating isn’t good, never on and when it is on it is never that hot to heat up the room. Shower is like knives and very hot and cold - bipolar. Good balance between the most expensive or fanciest halls and the cheapest and most basic - cranbourne had a good mix of people both party animals and less so. Good location being close to Asda, train station gym, town centre and more local bars. Pay and display carpark next door but no on-site parking.

It was alright there, the rooms are small but you have your own communal space with a kitchen for each floor.

Located right near the town center, which is super convenient. The co-op(small super market) is located a 1 minute walk away as well as the bus stop to go to uni. If the weather is nice, you take a 30 minute walk to uni. The beach is a 15 minute walk away. The rooms are everything a uni student would really need.
