I lived in an en-suite flat with 9 other students, we were located right in the centre of Endcliffe so had great access to the bar, small shop and reception. The flat was a great size and we often hung out in the living area until the early morning, it was great to have that communal space but also to have our own -good sized- rooms to hide in when needed! Maintainence normally responded in good time and we didn't have too many issues. Great access to taxis for nights out or buses when needing to get to the station. A 25 minute walk from the main part of uni made it feel like you were living in a city community as well as a student community - that was great! The only downside for me (engineering students have a lot of 9ams!) was how loud it could get as you tried to sleep but investing in a good pair of ear plugs if you'll be in this situation should sort that! All in all I would highly recommend

Great accommodation in a fantastic location. Not too far from the university (about 20min walk) but instead in a quiet student village type setting with a rural feel, away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Great rooms with all the basics one needs. Fantastic environment for socialising as everyone around you is in the same boat.

Crescent Flats, Decent room size that are quite spacious, very small and dated communal space, however brilliant social life, and very run people.

The halls are a bit far from the University buildings but in a pretty location with lots of activities arranged for residents.

I lived in Crewe Hall in Endcliffe which is an older building separate from the main halls of residence. I had an older building and opted for the cheapest accomodation, and shared with 9 other mixed-sex flat mates and shared 3 bathrooms between 10 of us. Socially this was not a great place to live, because our flat was more like a terraced house with its own front door rather than sharing a floor or hall with other flats, so we didn't mingle with other Crewe students. However we had a large grassy courtyard and tennis courts, and we often had BBQs in the summer which most of Endcliffe couldn't do. The flat was really warm (sometimes too warm in summer) and the showers were good. It was located slightly closer to uni than the other halls too. Because the building was older, we had sinks in every room which made up for the fact we didn't have en suites, and the rooms were almost 3 times the size of the newer builds in Endcliffe. The wifi was superfast and there was a small library next door that not many people knew about so we didn't have to trek into uni to get a space in the main libraries. The living space was quite poor with just a table that took up most of the room and no sofas/TV. Although most halls are overpriced, I think Crewe was good value for money in comparison to the newer part of Endcliffe, although I would have paid more for a better social experience.

Everything you need is on site - there is a shop, a bar and so many students to keep you entertained! I felt extremely safe there and I miss it so much! I stayed in Endcliffe which was so nice - most flats had an ensuite which was great and the bedrooms were all lovely! The site was extremely well kept and I don't know anyone who didn't enjoy it there! Only downside is that it is about a 20 min walk to uni, which didn't seem like much at the time but after living 10 mins away now I wouldn't want to live as far again! But the closer campus did not appeal to me so am definitely happy with my decision, even with the walk!

Great location and amazing setting though the colour painted on the walls is the most sickly colour green and the soundproofing isn’t great

Location was handy, socially great as everyone interacted and easy to meet other flats. Room was good as the desk was big and ensuite was a comfort however definitely should have had a double bed for the money ! A shop in ranmoor would make such a difference. Cheaper prices at the ridge also and a gym on site?? On site gym would be used loads

The actual accommodation is adequate with lots of space however there are scuff marks all over the place and parts of the wall repainted over in a slightly different colour. Living in ranmoor is irritating due to the lack of a bar like Entcliffe has whilst still paying the same amount. There also isn't enough washing machines available for the amount of people living there. The location is about half an hour walk to uni of a £1 bus journey which is fine as a walk tends to wake you up in time for the first lecture. The internet is a bit inconsistent at times but is never horrendous however it is irritating that you cannot use certain devices on the network e.g. an Amazon Firestick. It is okay overall, it's halls and what you would expect.

The halls are modern and in a great location. I was really close to 'The Edge' - a bar, restaurant and social / exercise space which was perfect. They were cleaned fortnightly and all my friends from other uni's that came to stay said they were much better than theirs!

It is nice to be in the same area as all the other first years and the standard of the accommodation is excellent. It is about 20 minutes walk from the university, so well placed. There is a nice community within the villages.

Crewe Hall- best standard accommodation in the uni, good facilities and really nice gardens. Loads of single sex flats but was still a lot of fun

Thoroughly enjoyed living here in first year. The location was a bit out there - about 20 minute walk from most lectures, but always felt safe. Very modern flats and a real sense of community. Was good to have a bar near the accommodation meaning we could just pop across for a few pints in the evening

A great social space with high quality rooms and plenty going on almost every day of the week. The bar serves great food and cheap drinks and the place just looks stunning. A truly great place to spend your first year at uni.

Expensive for what you get, however it is nice and there are good services on site with shops just a short walk away. The room was good and the bar 'the edge' was fairly cheap and an excellent social location with good food.

Fantastic accommodation only downside is the walk to uni being a little longer that nessesery and the proper shops are quite far but the shop onsite is great and most of the time had all you needed.

I live in Howden block in Endcliffe. The halls are fantastic. So warm you can wake up in a sweat, the security is also top notch, its manned 24 hours and you always feel safe. There is also the Edge Bar/building with pool tables screens and drink/food available. Endlciffe is its own little campus with nearly 5000 students, if you’re a social butterfly, you’ll be in your element! The only downsides are that the sofas in the living room are not the most comfortable and noise can sometimes be an issue - however thats the case for anywhere you live. When you move out and have to pay for heating, these things become absolutely arbitrary. Endlciffe was amazing and 4 years later, I still miss it.

A fair way out from the uni but very good social life as most students live nearby. The Edge is a fantastic facility for drinks or food. The flat itself could have been nicer decorated (anything but orange and brown!!) and the paint on the walls was chipped on arrival, otherwise the maintenance team have been very good at addressing any issues we have. The rooms are a very good size with a nice big desk and even room for my keyboard! Overall a very nice halls experience, but expensive even considering (£133 a week is a lot even for an ensuite).
