I love the location as it's only a ten minute walk from the uni and not far from town either. Socially it's very good as all the blocks are near each other so it's easy to make friends. I love my room, the bed is so nice and the space is amazing. The desk space is great and the bathroom is too.

Fferm penglais is the most expensive of all the accommodation at Aberystwyth university. However, it is still cheap compared to other uni. They are newly built and look modern as well as being super clean. The bedroom is a very big size coming with a range of storage spaces, I as a fresher came over prepared and managed to fill all of my things into the spaces. The kitchen is also very spacious providing the flat with a tv and sofas. Also, allowing each flat member (either a block of 6 or 8) to get two cupboards each. However, they do see to get damaged very easily and the tv tuning doesn’t always work. Also, the internet often cuts off on your phone which can be a pain. However, the accommodation is so nice compared to many universities I looked round and is the nicest at Aberystwyth uni. There are many blocks of flats to fferm penglais however, we were unfortunate to get a block right at the back, which wasn’t that much of an issue. We were right next to the car park which was handy however, after a gym session (which you get free with any student accommodation) it did feel like the walk was miles to it, but you don’t have to walk up the dreaded hill which is a bonus.

The accommodation is a 5 minute walk from the campus, perfect for staying on bed until just before your lectures! There is laundry facilities and a coffee shop that sells basic food and cleaning products on site, which is fairly reasonably priced! For me the room was a great size, lovely views about the window, a decent sized kitchen with plenty of room for the 6 people in the flat! The only downside is that there are no opening windows in the bedrooms or kitchens, hence the 4 stars not 5

I’ve had an absolutely excellent experience living in Fferm Penglais. It’s about a 10/15 minute walk from the main campus and the facilities are absolutely lovely. The rooms and en-suites are the most spacious student halls I’ve ever seen and the layout of the common area and kitchen make for a really sociable living space. Fferm Penglais is the best value for money I’ve seen in terms of student halls and I’ve had a really enjoyable experience living here.

Living in these halls is so convenient because of how close to campus they are, you make some great friends in the social area but have plenty of privacy because of the fire doors and en suite bathrooms. There are loads of electricity sockets which are handy and the modern design is practical amd attractive.

The accommodation is literally 10 minutes, if that, away from lectures on campus, so means you dont have to get up super early. Bedrooms have so much storage and a huge huge desk space along a whole wall, the double bed is luxury if im honest, and the ensuite is all clean and easily maintained. The communal area is big, with 2 cupboards each and 2 fridges and freezers and ovens, there is also a TV and sofas to chill on. The huge table is perfect for beer pong too... Overall get on well, no quarrels for space either which is nice. Put with either 8 or 6 people so plenty of long lasting friends to make.

It's really aesthetically pleasing, both inside and out. However, it's the furthest accommodation from the main uni campus which makes it a bit of an annoying walk, honestly. Apart from that, it's all sound.

It's alright. the windows that we have don't open, we only have air vents so when it's boiling in the kitchen it can take a while for fresh air to come through. One fridge and freezer shelf which isn't ideal but having an en suite is good

The location is a bit out of the way, however a reasonably short walk to campus for lectures. All shops are done Penglais hill which can seem like too far out the way. The facilities within the flat itself are very good, with communical items available and laundry just a few blocks down. The flat is lovely, modern and feels homey, however it is a little on the expensive side for my liking.

The location of the halls is great, far enough from the lecture halls that you don't feel like you're living on campus, but close enough that it only takes ten minutes to get to all the buildings. There is a Nisa 5 minutes away, as well as a small campus shop within the accommodation complex, both of which are good for last minute bits and bobs. The biggest downside is that there is no opening windows, only "vents". The social experience is good, there are events run by the uni within the accommodation complex and also it is easy to meet other students in your block. There are a few study areas and rooms within the complex which are useful for group study if you don't want to go to the library.

Not as good as I was expecting, lots of things break, design isn't great. Socially my flat is bad, the accomodation office are not very good. Overall been a miserable experience

Nice scenery and love the fact we have doubl beds and our own bathrooms. Nice as we do still have the communal area (kitchen) to make friends. I have loved my last two years here.

Nice scenery. Lovely lay out. Nice to have double bed and your own bathroom but still have the communal area (kitchen) to make friends. Loved my two years in this accommodation.

Perfect, couldn’t ask for anything more. En suite, fully furnished kitchen/lounge with an awesome TV. Great sense of community and within walking distance of everything :)

Fferm penglais is perfect for having your own space to live, work and accessibility. The location of fferm penglais is good, apart from if you want to go into town by foot, then it’s so far especially walking up the hill.

Large modern and stylish room with a double bed and ensuite shower room, everything you will need to make your uni life as comfprtable as possible. Theres tonnes of storage space that wil easily hide every item pf clothing you can think of, as well as the extra stuff that just happens to be brought as a student ! Overall the best uni accomadation ive ever seen

Very cozy, decent nightlife, friendly area, quiet, out the way, couldn't be better

Fferm is great, it is very modern and is very spacious! The only downside is the showers have a push button to turn them on and needs to be pushed every minute.

The halls of residence, Fferm Penglais, is sleek modern and perfectly designed to fit the life of a modern University student. The double bed, which is becoming a staple in modern life, is a great improvement other the traditional cramped camp-bed style previously offered !!!

Overall a fantastic halls of residence, the bedrooms were lovely, great size and the en suite was a huge bonus. It was close enough to the university so walking was no problem, although walking.back from town was a bit of a pain, the layout if the buildings gives it a nice welcoming feeling

It is in a good location and an easy walk to campus. The common room makes it easy to socialise and overall the room is good value for money.

It is a good place to socialise and it is a very easy walk to get to the town centre. The room itself is an adequate size so I would say value for money is good.

Best halls at Aber if you want your own private facilities but with the element of socialising with your flatmates
