Friendly cleaners and staff- perhaps overpriced but overall clean building. Within great walking distance to city centre, and to BCU campus.

At first I really did not enjoy. I was the only fresher in my flat where exchange students were living, it was messy and unpleasant to live in. I tried to move rooms but was unable to until after Christmas where Unite managed to switch for me.

Pros: Good bedroom size and facilities, as well as a good kitchen/lounge. Rooms were pretty soundproof which was good. Close to uni and town. Cons: Isn't really anywhere to socialise unless you smoke and therefore go to the courtyard. Gets unbearably hot in late spring/summer, and loads of gang trouble around the building so isn't the nicest location

Jennens has a really good location, close to Aston, BCU City Centre Campus and City Centre si it is easy and fast to get anywhere from there. Staff is really helpful and kind. Rooms are small but have enough for what you need.

The location of the accommodation was convenient as it was just a 5/10 minute walk from the university. The room sizes were what I accepted, however they were very small and basic compared to other accommodations in places such as Nottingham. The accommodation didn’t have many facilities to offer, just a small social room with a pool table and a tv. I found that other accommodations near by had there own gyms for those living in the accommodation which is convenient for students. The accommodation I found was unsafe as often the doors would be left open allowing strangers access to our courtyard. As well as the coffee shop attached to the accommodation being robbed. There was constantly police being called to the accommodation as there was drunk people hanging around the back of the accommodation a lot, near the shop, causing trouble and disturbing the residents. However the maintenance were very good, whenever I had an issue they were out to fix it as soon as possible and 99% of the time there was someone on reception if there was ever any issues.

Room is a good size. Some rooms have really thick walls so you don’t hear your roommates unless ur in the hall, so playing loud music is for late nights.. there’s enough storage (there’s one under the bed) for for kitchen you get a top and bottom cupboard and cutlery draw. Security isn’t as tight as other accommodation so depends on how you like it.

When I moved in the bed had an old sheet and pillows which were not mine, there were also old fag butts on my desk. The flat is cleaned once a fortnight by a cleaner to a good standard. The parking is £700 a year which is extortionate considering the price of the flats already. It is in an excellent location, 5 minutes to uni and 5 minutes to the bullring. Decorated and done out in a modern fashion with staff usually on call. Have had a few parcels lost but they bought a big tin of chocolates to say sorry. Temperamental wifi

Jennen’s court was the best place for me to live in first year, the location was great and everybody knew each other because of how the halls were laid out, there was always something going on socially and it was easy to feel part of a bigger picture which helped when we were all adjusting to Uni life.

Close to the campus. Which makes it easier for first year to find their way before settling .in the city center, good for night life. Good size room with 3/4 beds and recently redecorated rooms. Elevator- everyone’s favourite thing heheh. Common room with pool table and tv- which is good while you wait for ur laundry to be finish. However, expensive washer and dryer- it’s old and doesn’t clean your clothes well. And tends to need to be in the dryer atleast twice.

Was extremely messy and dirty, bin bags in the lifts, pants in the corridoors. Very very overpriced, especially as the room had a really old matress with springs sticking out, everyone in my flat had to buy matress toppers and things like full length mirrors that were mentioned in the adverts were not there. They also started work for next years students while we were still living there. For instance, told us to take all our stuff out of the kitchen cupboards because they were refitting it, however we had nothing new when we moved in. The key i was given was bent but they wouldnt replace it for me so i kept getting locked out, i actually missed some uni because this. This happened to everyone in the flat so in the end we had to put a shoe to stop the door closing so it was always open. The staff at reception were very nice and friendly which was the only plus.

The hall is in pretty good condition and it is constantly getting maintenance done to keep it that way. It has a great location in town especially with for Aston and BCU students.

Location is right in the city and close to campus. Causing issues with noise from cars and drunken students coming home from a night out. Kitchen is awkwardly designed and has to much open space and should be more thought out x accessing cupboards with multiple people using the kitchen and oven is hard due to a wall being in the way. All rooms are ensuite rooms. Really lovely space and design. Not really enough storage for me personally. But a lot more than what is offered in most places. Not enough fridge or freezer space for 4 people. There should be minimum of 2 fridges as they are quite small or have larger fridges bought. Fire alarm tests are unreliable timed. There aren't usually people here to turn it off and investigate if the fire is real or not if it goes off at night. Fire safety seems mistreated here. A test alarm goes on for 2 minutes. So whenever we hear the alarm we always wait 2 minutes before we evacuate which doesn't seem safe.

The halls are very well kept and have everything you could really need when living alone. The central location means you are close to everything in town, including uni and other students halls, meaning you are able to make friends and connections all over the city. The wifi and other facilities all worked well. The only issue I had when living here is that one washing machine once didn't work, there isn't much bad I could say about staying in halls at BCU. Having other friends in other buildings and halls convinces me that overall all accommodation at this uni is good : )

Facilities are good although the upper floor flats could do with a revamp. The windows on the upper floors don't open fully so the kitchens are difficult to ventilate but this is a safety feature.

Fire alarms are left on for hours in the middle of the night, the main doors are left open for anyone to enter over night with no security.

The rooms and kitchen/lounge are really nice and a good size, and it's rare to hear any noise from an adjoining bedroom which is great. However, there's a lot of noise from the surrounding area, and there's been quite a lot of crime lately right outside, so it's annoying at times. I also wish the windows would open more, as it can very hot.

When I first moved it wasn’t great. I was out in the other block away from all the new freshers students and in a hall with third year exchange students who hardly spoke English. This wasn’t the best start which lasted the whole of semester 1. I did request to move numerous times, until after Christmas they all finally had another room available.

location is great, right next to uni, but it is a very dodgy area with lots of criminal activity going on

Very close to Uni, good atmosphere, but a little on the expensive side. But there was major improvements made whilst i was staying there

I spent two years living at Jennens Court on the 5th floor and the 10th floor. The location is really great, only a couple minutes from the city centre campus and only a 5 minute walk into town was really useful getting around. The rooms I had were decent in size and were comfortable, plenty of storage including under the bed. Kitchens were as you'd expect for a university but the kitchen I had in first year had mould in the corner which wasn't so good. The second you we had a really great view except for BOA opposite screen being really bright so you had to keep curtains closed as it stayed on all night.

Really good size rooms, minute walk from uni, closest to the city centre, beautiful look on the outside and good facilities. Has a shop and subway at the bottom, with further shops over the road

The location is very handy, round the corner from city centre campus and a short walk to the city centre stations and shops. I experienced a number of problems when living there. The staff were unhelpful, it always smelt like weed or rubbish, in our flat we had countless problems with plumbing and maintenance and the laundrette prices are extortionate (I also found out that those prices, as well as rent prices, have gone up). The security was poor, which I suppose was good for students having parties and inviting outside friends.

I love the size of the bedroom and kitchen however the shower room could be a little bigger. my bedroom has great storage for all of my belongings although i could do with more room in the kitchen cupboards. my main issue is with the security as in recent weeks i’ve noticed people who aren’t students in the courtyard and there was a fight in the flat above us between to full grown men who don’t live here. I made two complaints over the units students app and went to reception and the noise and fighting continued until 4am. Overall, i love the location as it’s only a 5 minute walk from uni, the bullring and supermarkets. I’d love to stay here again for my second year of studies.
