Oscott Gardens

I recomend the Oscott Grade s for a social and fun experience, however the rooms are very small and claustrophobic, taking away from the sense living at your home. However I believe it offers good value for money compared to other halls

The One Stop Shopping Centre was nearby the accomodation which was very beneficial to get your weekly shopping in with ease.

Living at oscott gardens was surprisingly a great experience during my first year at uni. I have the opportunity to meet new people and even go to a few flat gatherings and meet people who were on the same course as me. The facilities and my room was great, my room was very spacious and I believe it’s a great hall of residence.

Aha the place was amazing. We stayed there for 1 year and we wouldn't stay anywhere else. If the campus was still there then we would stay there again. the ammount of International students that were there were a little bit too much but I guess they have to stay somewhere, lol.

The people and atmosphere was incredible when I was there, due to the campus change I wouldn't recommend staying there again!

The best student accommodation! I made so many friends for life during my first year stay. Oscott is an extremely sociable place and something is always going on! Might not be the most luxurious but I would recommend to anyone!

Constant drainage issues with the shower which meant it overflowed and stank. A panel fell off the wall and nearly knocked me out whilst I was sat on the toilet (hilarious I KNOW) and the wardrobe door fell off twice and handles for draws fell off 3 times so i constantly had people in and out repairing my room!!!

The rooms are of a decent size, however very old fashioned. The kitchen is extremely basic and grotty, but still amazing for the student life style.

Nice facilities but very far away from city centre so not good for going out at night because taxis are expensive

Good value for money, shopping centre near by. Bus stop right outside and takes about 10 minutes to the city centre.

It’s fine. Nothing fantastic. Has all the facilities it needs. Always something wrong but it’s been always fixed.

It’s been 3 years since I stayed at this halls of residence and I have to say that when I stayed here it was amazing. However my friend is staying there now and because BCU has moved everything into the city centre, this site has gone downhill. It’s now very expensive for what it is. It’s around 30 minutes away from the city centre and the area it’s in it’s not very nice at all. As she was late applying, her flat in particular is practically empty so the social elements are almost non-exsistent

This hall is ideally the expected standard of a student accommodation. Throughout the whole year i never once regretted choosing it as it was always equipped with everything i required. From the important utensils to the proximity of important areas i required. From the socialising areas to the privacy of my own room - they were all great. However, i think there is still room to improve on keeping the place a little cleaner. Also, although the building is quite good it would still help a lot if it was slightly cheaper to afford, after all, we are students and have other expenses too.

My experience at oscott gardens was amazing! i loved my toomnit was very spacious and the benefit of having hidden storage under the bed and above the wardrobe was an added bonus. there were some events held in the study room over the year but i didn’t attend any so i can’t comment on the social side too much. however the communal area was fantastic, very cosy and enough space for everyone’s stuff in the fridges and cupboards at all time which was important. overall i loved it, it’s wonderful, i would encourage everyone to live there, the only downside was the distance from the city centre campus, you really can’t avoid getting a bus (get the pass for the year) but even with this expense it’s still cheaper than living in the town.
