Great sized rooms, huge kitchen/living area. Not hugely modern, but that is only a small issue. Very warm and secure. Great team of maintenance staff who fix any issues almost immediately.

Could be better with space and modified to be more upto date for new students!! When we first moved in the rooms weren’t ready and had to stay in a hotel but eventually we moved in. Rooms are a good size for one person with a shared kitchen. Loved my house mates and the security is good! They are on call at any time of the day and driveround keeping the campus safe!

Quiet but spacious. Lovely people and big kitchens. Well placed amongst other halls. Best football team in Stokey B

Not a very social halls, Very expensive for what it was. Big room but full of silverfish, even a mouse in the kitchen. The ensuites were nice, but it was miles away from the university too.

Overall a great hall for me, however I know not everyone had the same experience. A lot of people call it 'dulldham', referring to its lack of life, but I found that not to be the case as my flat was definitely one for being social and going out (not necessarily the case for a lot fo my friends though). The rooms were spacious, well laid out and had en suites - something I didn't think I wanted but was very glad to have once I moved in. I was in D block, so having the computer room and laundry services so close was very handy and made it a lot easier to go about uni work. The washer/dryers are expensive (like every halls of residence) so try to share wahses with people to save money. We had a bar which served cheap drinks and put on events every now and then, which were good opportunities to meet people from around your halls. All in all, I think your experience depends on how much effort you put in - it will be 'dulldham' if you don't make friends with as many people as you can, and that'll be the case for every halls. I recommend Stoke Bishop as I enjoyed the walk and I loved the atmosphere of thousands of students in one place, but if you're look for a short walk then there are definitely closer halls. I loved my first year, but that's mainly because of the people - so meet everyone and anyone in your first week cos uni is the only time it'll be acceptable for you to knock on the doors of every flat in your block and have everyone introduce themselves on the first day.
