The halls are relatively old - but the facilities are functional. A few of the kitchens are being slowly upgraded. Goldney itself is situated in the beautiful Clifton village - in a gorgeous location. It also has incredible gardens- for all seasons. Socialising is brilliant in Summer - in the gardens. But it is less easy in Winter as the common room is less occupied.

Very nice location in a quiet residential area with Clifton village 5 minutes walk away with lots of cute cafes and 15 minutes walk from the main university campus. There is a library, music room and common rooms. The gardens are lovely during the spring and summer times.

Was in the best location as it is in a quiet area with shops and only a 10 minute walk from the university. The hall itself was brilliant with huge grounds and a really nice community feel.

Goldney Hall is situated less than 10 minutes walk the the triangle. Perfect for getting up with the minimum amount of time to spare before a 9am. It's very sociable and there are beautiful gardens which are great in the summer. Tennis courts, pool, table tennis and cheap bar are some of the most useful facilities.... don't worry there's a study room aswell. Oh and there's an inquisitive cat called Obi who likes a cuddle.

It's definitely pretty, but reality comes crashing down when the room radiator doesn't do the job properly or when you have to walk 30mins to get to Cabot Circus and 25mins everyday to class. Apart from that, the area is quite safe and posh and has basic facilities nearby.

If you are looking for halls that will be a hive of social activity then goldney is perfect. It is self catered with large kitchens and realllly nice rooms (but im bias because im in the new A block). The flats each house 8 people but you basically feel like youre living with the whole block (4 flats in each). There's always stuff going on in a least one flat (in our block anyways) and on the rare rare rare occasion there isn't you're litterally 5 min walk away from the triangle. The triangle (where wills building is) has loads of fab clubs (omg and Lola los being personal faves), cafes and take out food places and other useful shops like sainsburys and raymands etc. On the other hand you could go in the opposite direction into Clifton where there a loads of really nice (way out of student budget) cafes who's windows you can look into but never go in (until your parents come and you casually suggest a coffee and cake). Also in Clifton is the saving grace that is tesco express that is there for you daily until 11pm with alcohol and frozen pizza. So basically what more could you want from halls? Goldney is where its all at.

My block and three others were renovated over the summer and I have a beautiful room with a double bed. I am extremely fortunate as other blocks and rooms appear very run down and they do not pay much less for the room despite it being much worse. My flat has a wet room instead of showers and toilets separate which can be a little gross and there is never hot water, despite this the bathrooms are clean and the water pressure is good. For 4 weeks we only had 1 hon between 8 people in the flat and despite numerous calls and maintenance reports it still took 4 weeks for the hob to be fixed. I love these halls and feel extremely lucky to be here! The location and grounds are perfect. Goldney is a quieter alternative to the stoke bishop halls but still has a thriving social scene. The halls are relatively small and if you want a night in it is easy and quiet buy nights out are fantastic. The small nature of the halls means everyone knows eaxhother and everyone is friendly! I would recommend these halls to anyone applying!

Goldney is truly a unique halls of residence for first year! The grounds you have access to are really lovely especially in summer, and lots of balls and formals are organised too, in an amazing setting. The one downside is it's 50:50 whether you get a modernised kitchen/flat or not. Although I was unlucky and got a room on the ground floor which could be quite dark, there are other flats which are modern and have quite nice kitchens. Overall I would definitely recommend Goldney!

Location of Goldney is excellent, 15 minute walk from uni and 5 from Clifton village, which is super pretty and nice to explore. Room itself is pretty poor, ventilation in bathroom doesn't work, and since my room is next door it's always damp and my towels never dry. Kitchen however is excellent, very big and lots of cupboard space, although there are some other kitchen in Goldney that are nowhere near as nice as the one in my flat.

Goldney Hall is an overall nice accommodation for students. It is located in Clifton which is a great area to live in (perhaps the best in Bristol!) Although the rooms are relatively old, they tend to be bigger compared to other students accommodations. The gardens are also very beautiful and it has certain facilities such as study rooms, tennis courts and a bar. I would highly recommend!

Goldney hall is in a good location, a 20 minute walk from the university and right next to Clifton village. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are a good size. The facilities are good; there is a library, comment room with a TV, bar, games room and tennis courts. There are events held regularly in the bar including live music, talent shows, quizzes, bingo and movie nights.

Amazing halls, great atmosphere and community and beautiful gardens. Great support network and revision facilities. In Clifton which is close to city center, shops and the Clifton suspension bridge.

Goldney was such a great place to be, not only were the surroundings like something out of a period drama but it had such a great social life. The JCR really worked hard, and by the end of the year everyone in halls knew each other well. Plus we had the Goldney cat ;)

Really nice halls to live in and be a part of! And really fancy, although a bit pricey once you get settled into to finances etc it becomes well worth it
