Farnham Student Village

The halls were conveniently placed however overpriced for what was supplied, issues included many student houses not updated in years whereas others had been. Plumbing was a constant issue which wasn't due to food rather poor plumbing which the company refused to replace or fix during our stay. Good internet if connected directly via ethernet, otherwise the connection was intermittent at best

Great location in regards to uni and the town. Outside of the village is beautiful, the houses look lovely on the outside. Inside could be better, newly finished kitchens are nice and a good space to hang out but weird hall space could be used better as living rooms but instead are odd shapes and oddly placed. Two sinks was very useful and helped with arguments in the house. Two toilets and two showers was enough for 8 people, never had to wait. Sadly got put into an all girl house and would have preferred to have lived with a few guys. The environment is great an house parties are often going on. Wardens are understanding but not rule bending. Enjoyable housing, just hard to live with dirty students.

Refurbished rooms were adequately maintained with minimal issues. The communal kitchen area is spacious with plenty of cupboards to be used. A stone's throw away from the town centre and a 5 minute walk to the train station.

The Student Village is incredibly close to the uni, and has multiple rooms for disabled students and students-in-need. It offers all necessities such as wifi, kitchen equipment and even a hoover for all the inevitable dirt! The only cons are the small rooms (for some), and windows facing towards the loud road that sees multiple noisy students late at night.

My experience in halls was absolutely awful. Was dirty and unclean when I arrived, and despite being in one of the refurbished rooms, it was dusty and grimey. The social aspect of halls was also awful apart from the fact that I could get to my friends pretty quickly. That being said, not everyone had the opportunity to be at halls. For example I managed to get accommodation, however my twin brother who lives at the same home address as me didn’t. Absolutely ridiculous.

The halls of residence are below average without a doubt, the rooms are unpleasantly tiny and the kitchens and communal areas are unasestically pleasing to look at for example the window panes have cracks in them in the kitchens so air and bugs can get in, the rooms are dull and rather depressing to look at and Farnham is not a student friendly town, there is nothing to do and the closest supermarket is a Waitrose, there are little to no “student restaurants” or pubs such as nandos or Wetherspoons which u have to travel to Guildford or aldershot to access

We have houses mostly instead of halls which is a lot better than halls which my other half has at the moment, they are really pretty on the outside and we have decent size rooms and kitchens

At this university I feel like the social experience is a big part, many fresher events for people to enjoy, however I dislike sharing a room and Farnham is quite dull in terms of activity

Overall, although nightlife isnt as great, the social experience is one of the best I've had living in halls, it felt like the student village was a family of its own

My accommodation is kinda boring because no one in the house really talk to each other. It is really helpful living in student accommodation because it is so close to the university. Student accommodation helps me to be more independent

Living in halls was fun, and was reasonable for what I payed for (considering the location). I loved being near friends and we still talk about how much we enjoyed it. My flat in main halls was a bit old but cheaper so eh

My room was really flithy when I moved in and needed a good clean , with dust, and hair everywhere. The room itself was pretty basic as I expected .The shower was very dirty and small, appearing to be very old. The kitchen was awful , there was a huge hole in the wall , the drawers and cupboards had food and stains in them. Despite this I do really enjoy my course and am lucky to get along well with all my housemates. However the student halls themselves have been pretty dated with the carpet curling up on the stairs which is dangerous where it causes us to fall over walking up and down them and one of the ovens in the kitchen is particularly ancient and does not work properly and where there is 8 of us that need to cook things can become difficult because of this.

Very close to the univeristy, very old housing, not modernised, expensive for what you got, gross, no house parties allowed past 10pm which leads to no social gatherings and isolation, needs renovation or reductoin in price, only social area in house was kitchen which was small, room felt like prison
