Had a fantastic time staying in halls, was very sociable and the accommodation itself was lovely, very modern and the bedrooms had everything you needed in it. However, sometimes the security was annoying they would come round for the smallest of reasons and the beware of the fines at the end they fine you for the smallest things. But overall i had a great experience and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Bainfield has a great location right across from fountain park, so it’s handy for restaraunts and cinema etc. It is also not too long a walk away from the centre and short bus journeys away from my uni campus. The facilities at Bainfield are good and the flats were nice and clean when I moved in although I do sometimes have problems with my shower. The washing machine circuit system doesn’t always work which can sometimes be an inconvinience for laundry. Apart from that I have enjoyed my time at Bainfield and the huge social aspect and have met great people here.

So I must say I was a bit hesitant at first because I didn't really feel at home, everything felt very new and too structured. But guys believe me, that was the whole beauty of it. I feel as if only now that I have left the halls I really understand how great they were! Let's start with the structure which was new, clean and spacious. Despite nobody told me how much I was meant to get out of my comfort zone, you had the chance to meet so many people if only you wanted to! The halls are always warm, the WiFi was so fast and in general it was so convenient to have the bills all included in the monthly rent. Also the location was perfect with practical bus stops at the front of the building but also at the back. I've rated it 5 stars not because it was always 100%, but because I had such an amazing experience there.

Bainfield is overall great student accommodation, although it is quite expensive. The location is one of my favourite things about it - 15 min walk from my campus, 20-30 min walk from the city centre and a lot of shops and restaurant nearby. For student accommodation the flats and rooms are decent in size and well furnished. The buildings are pretty well isolated so usually there is no issue with cold and humidity; however, the inner walls are quite thin and it can get quite noisy. Wifi is decent, but very inconsistent at times. Laundry is horrible and expensive. Overall I would live in Bainfield again, but not at the current price.

room size was ok, too many people coming in and out for so called "scheduled maintenance". If you pay over 700£ a month then you expect to receive some level of privacy, not really the case at bainfeild.

The location of the Bainfield residence was fantastic, with lots to do at the opposing fountain park centre, as well as having good transport links to the city and airport. It was also only about a 15 minute walk to any point in the city centre of Edinburgh.

Location was good for those not studying at Sighthill campus. Social experience in halls was good but sometimes to loud especially if you are someone who was working during uni and trying to sleep forget the idea of sleeping on Friday or Saturday nights as you can hear everything. Facilities in the kitchen were good maybe a bit crammed when there was 8 in your flat. Was brilliant to have such a large bathroom all to yourself.

Bainfield is very visually appealing from the Main Street and outwith the building, as well as lovely inside. The bright colours were a good choice, they stand out. However, the small spaces between the tall buildings caused wind to get trapped and so the coldness caused students to refrain from using the outdoor seating/socialising facilities. The apartments are modern, clean and well kitted out with appliances. The rooms are small, but beds are large enough for a dorm room and the bathrooms and all wet-walled (making for easy cleaning). Life in the halls was the downfall. The walls are very thin and so conversations can be heard from room to room. The smoking areas also grew very loud at night and the noise travelled through the windows. I feel overall that I had a poor experience socially in halls and that they were very overpriced for the quality of the apartments. Simple, modern and clean, but cheaply made.

I was in a premium flat which was a great size, very spacious. However there was only 2 fridges for 8 people, and one of my flat mates took up a whole one so not much space. The only other thing, is that we often got noise complaints when we were not doing anything. Other than that, it was a good year and I met life long friends.

To be paying £705 a month you would expect a lot more. Walls are paper thin, doors slam exceptionally loud (say good bye to any sleep EVER). Charged £25 for a tiny chip of paint size of a finger nail. Maintenance are constantly intruding yet when you actually need something done, they’re nowhere to be found. Location good - everything else pretty bad.

The Bainfield halls are spacious and modern and set in a great location near plenty of shops and restaurants. However the frequent maintenence visits were inconvenient and sometimes seemed unnecessary. The rooms are also very cold in the winter as the heating doesn't seem to come on till late. The actual bedrooms and facilities were good. There was often problems with the WiFi

The location is amazing. Bus journey away from campus and the centre of town or a short walk. Halls are modern and nice, however very expensive. Social experience depends on your flatmates as I was housed with people that were all much older than me (5 years) and it sort of ruined the experience for me.

The halls are very nice and modern with the rooms and kitchen, however it depends on your flatmates for overall experience. I was housed with people that were all much older than me and it ruined the social experience. Also, it is quite expensive.

Although it's a good place to live and in a good location near town, the social side isn't the best as halls feel very clinical and the corridor with rooms layout doesn't encourage socializing

Overall good accommodation. Very modern rooms and kitchen. Kitchen/lounge area is nice and spacious. Certain bedrooms however are bigger than others. Only complaint is the fire alarm seems to go off very often. (Once a week sometimes!). However this isn't really down to Bainfield

Very very good and every one there is so friendly and the staff and people are good fun and helpful for everything and everyone and it’s fun and good and fun

The location was good as it was near links and also near my campus. The Internet there is dreadful with being disconnected continuously and always being slow even if you had paid for faster. There was no really social events and the bar which was there was barely open and more expensive than the union. The rooms are a good size but you need to be careful because they will charge you at the end for anything you do not report at the start or can show pictures showing it is the same as when you moved in. The halls are good for first year till you are settled in but after that there are better places which offer more for your money with a lot more friendly and helpful staff.

Moved in on the first year of opening and items were not finished however all the facilities that did work were good. En suite was a delight especially when you initially don't know anyone in your halls and don't want to share a bathroom.
