Good location as close to uni but not many places or shops about so hard for people who don't drive. No activities going on after freshens week. No lock on the doors so anyone with a key can come in to your room at any time.

The rooms are modern and great with facilities that are fit for students who are temporarily staying in. Location is not that good because its far away from the main cities hence not much stores or fast food chains can be accessed. People are great and lovely.

Location is 2 min walk from university and gym, 20 min walk from supermarket, 30 min walk from city centre/train station. Washing and drying clothes is around £5, room is clean, and has lots of storage with own ensuite, powerful and warm shower. Expense is not worth while due to the location of the university when you can rent flats for 1/4 of the price. Social experience is terrible. No events, clubs open 2 day a week only, no 'student nights', very boring experience. Halls dominated by girls due to the type of university, 2-4 boys in one building.

Close in distance to uni, high quality standards throughout building, good support services, needs to be better social areas and events.

Galashiels is poor location for night life, there are no society’s to join, rooms are super expensive but very nicely designed and decorated

Location was ideal for the university however far away from city and facilities. No clubs or society's for the borders students in comparison to all the facilities and clubs that are offered and running at the Edinburgh campus, often feels like we are forgotten about. Nightlife is limited to what's available in town and not many other things put on for us students. However the rooms in halls are very nice and up to good standards, very comfortable living away from home with an ensuite and double bed. Storage is good and bills being included in the overal pice is very helpful as you don't need to worry about it and makes moving away from home less daunting. Halls are expensive but worth the money.

Beautiful building. Great set up. Great staff. Well built. I loved everything about living there. Was easy to receive post, cleaning service was great.

Location not good for partying, boring, no one goes out/has halls parties, only 2 clubs only open on a fri/sat. Good clean facilities, ensuite is good, washing is expensive. Not the student experience I was expecting or hoping for.

Great location just across the road from the uni, great social experience of all the 1st years being in one main building, where we're free to walk around and mix with other flats and floors - far better than only making friends with those in your own flat, allowed our year to have huge nights out and parties with every 1st year involved. Room had amazing storage and decent en suite facilities - info on how to ventilate your room should've been given to students as some were clueless and ended up with mouldy bathrooms. Lovely ground settings, especially during the hotter months. However very very overpriced considering the location of Galashiels, typical student rent outwith halls is about £250 max a month for a huge flat... in comparison to about £600 a month in halls. These halls could be compared to central London and other major student cities and would both be of equal price for facilities offered. The fact students in Galashiels are being targeted and ripped off this way due to there only being 1 main option for 1st years is disgusting. We were definitely taken advantage of and now prices are increasing again - disgusting and just plain greedy.
