Kingswood 1

Okay so initially I was really hesitant about Kingswood as an accommodation because it’s totally off campus, however it’s actually turned out great. A free bus runs every half an hour to campus so you never have to worry about having to walk. Kingswood 1 is catered accommodation (the food is decent but sometimes it can be hit or miss depending on what theme it is, the “‘mexican” food is amazing!). I also have a shared bathroom but I don’t really notice because we have a cleaner who cleans weekly and all in all my flat mates are quite clean too. The only annoying thing is that because we’re so far off campus is that there’s no point coming back between lectures as by the time you get back to kingswood, it’s time to leave again. A shuttle bus runs to Kingswood on nights out so it doesn’t affect socialising at the SU at all or worrying about how to get home! All in all the distance is a bit frustrating but the positives outweigh the negatives.

The location to the uni is poor and the bus service is timed very poorly the room itself had mood growing up the walls the sink had some horrible smell coming from the drain most mornings I was awoke by loud noises from power tools being used underneath my room and I slept late at night due to loud neighbours the toilets were always disgusting the food at kws was very bad

It is far from everything including shopping areas (even a corner store), town centres and basically everything. It's very isolated but there is a free uni bus which takes you to campus or you can pay £1 and go to the town centre so that's useful. Because kingswood is so isolated there's much more of a community spirit so socially it's very good and there's lot of place for people to chill at kingswood. The showers are good with a good water pressure and temperature, the kitchen is nice and big and it's all very clean as well. My room was very spacious but the walls are very thin.

It’s a bit far from campus but the walk is really not that bad, it has a great community life and the people and staff are always lovely. Rooms are perfect size and having a sink is super practical

Decent sized room with wash basin, okay pantry for a catered hall. Food isn't that bad. Great community spirit. But weed literally everywhere and parties everynight so it gets noisey and stinky

Nice room but it gets noisey and smelly due to the constant weed and parties. Food isn't that bad either

You get what you pay for with Kingswood. The canteen food is not off a good standard and the walk to campus is very taxing, with the bus only coming every half an hour. However the room is large and nice and it is quite quiet.

What it lacks in location, the value for money and the quality of the room make it a good place to live
