Kingswood 2 is very nice but can be extremely frustrating if you don't understand what you're getting yourself into. The Kingswood area is in the nice country part of Englefield Green, if you're a student who doesn't like to party or go out a lot, like myself, then this is the perfect residential for you with an stunning environment and a vibrant wildlife right outside your door step. Kingswood 2 has everything you need as a catered student - Although described on the website as a mixture of self-catered and catered the only reason why KW 2 doesn't get a 5/5 is because it is simply not self-catered at all. The KW 2 pantry is very small (lucky to fit more than 1 person) with very minimum equipment in there to make any sort of food past cereal or microwavables. But this is not too much of a downside as the food vacilities provided; KW Diner & 8Bar9 provide excellent food and as a catered student you will get 50% off all meals. This means you'll be spending about £5/day on food if you 100% use the catering services. The trip to campus is a free 7 minute bus journey which runs every 30 mins up until 7:30pm and afterwards runs hourly until 1am. Otherwise it's a 20 minute walk through a dark alley way/35 min walk if you walk along the roads. If you don't get out much or just very occasionally this is not too much of an issue and the environment you get is very worth it. On the KW site there is also a common room with a few tables, a tv, about 8 bean bags, sofas and piano. Not many people used the common room. Also while staying in Kingswood, especially KW 2 it is very unlikely you'll speak to your roommates. At first I thought this was an issue with just my flat but after speaking to friends I later met we all had the same issue (they were staying in a mixture of KW1/2) I went the entire year without speaking to 5/8 properly. One of those 5 people I didn't even speak to the entire year until the moving out date. The security and the office here are also very reliable and will keep any mail you get very safe. If you have any disabilities they will do their best to help you through circumstances. When I got out of hospital after a week they offered to clean my room for me as I couldn't move much. Room inspections occur once every 3 months. Fire alarms tests weekly - usually in the afternoon. KW 2 doesn't have a lift so if you do require a lift then avoid KW 2. One final note the WIFI is excellent. I experienced the best WIFI I've ever had here. I don't know how but its different to the one on main campus the download speed on campus ranges from 50-100Mbps while Kingswood it ranges 100-150mbps.

Bathrooms were absolutely disgusting, heating broke for so long without them telling us or getting it fixed for ages, canteen nice, good social atmosphere as being so far from campus everyone sticks together and knows each other, good common room but more areas should be open for hanging out
