the facilities at QMR are undoubtedly the best for their price bracket. the rooms are spacious & there's plenty of storage for your clothes; the kitchens are similarly big with lots of cupboards. the mattresses are a bit rubbish but that's probably the worst I can say about the rooms. the staff are all really friendly & helpful, there's tons of parking and the common room is fantastic. well stocked with dvd's and video games, there's a pool table and table football and a fair few desks if you want to study too. there are flat parties every so often and it's easy to get to know the people in your block as well as your flat. the biggest issue is that QMR is pretty far away from town & the other accommodations - it's only a 40 or so minute walk to cairncross & the like, but it can get frustrating if your friend group mainly live in that area. it's a lot harder to get home after a night out than if you were staying in kelvinhaugh. objectively the location is great, I love walking through the botanics every morning to get to uni and byers road is only a ten minute walk away, but as I said, the distance from town can get frustrating.

The room and facilities were great but the social experience was not, there is no mingling of flats and no experience of meeting people in other flats. However facilities and rooms are impeccable

The location is quite far from the uni campus which I do find annoying especially if I want to just go in to use the gym, and I found out other halls much closer to uni have their own gym so was wondering why don't we?!! I love the rooms nice and big and spacious with huge desks but you could defo fit in a double bed and certain rooms do which I find unfair. My radiator does brake everyday and that is ridiculously annoying always having to go and report it But overall I do love it

The wifi could be better, as normally when I talk to my friends via skype the conection is really bad.

The location was ideal with it being a 20 minute walk through the botanic gardens to uni. The facilities were great, there is a massive social area which although can be quiet is great fun. The rooms were big and had an en-suite which made all the difference for me as you are moving in with people you have just met. The night life isn't as crazy as other halls, but this is a good thing when it comes to exam time.

Queen Margaret Residences is one of the better Glasgow Uni halls. It doesn't quite have the nightlife reputation of Murano Halls, but it's comfortable rooms, shared living-kitchens and central services building make it a really great, social place to spend first year.

Queen Margaret residences is a similar distance away from campus as the other halls but it is still about a 30 minute walk away. The halls are one of the nicest (and more expensive halls) as they are all ensuite with quite large rooms. The rooms are all equipped with a single bed, wardrobes and desk and chair as a minimum. The communal kitchen in the flats are a good size with lots of cupboard space and 2 fridge freezers, and there is enough room for a reasonable sized gathering of people. Within the central services area there are washing machines and tumble dryers (although there is sometimes a wait for these) , a sofa area with a tv, tables and chairs, a pool table and a ping pong table. This room is available to reservation by students staying in the halls if they wish to use it. Queen Margaret residences is quite quiet compared to other halls and this can be good if you enjoy an undisturbed night sleep. There are of course parties from time to time but not nearly on the scale as those in Murano student halls, which is known to be party central. All in all I enjoyed my time at queen Margaret and it was a safe great place to become independent and meet some lifelong friends.

En suite un every room, 15 mins walk from the big Tesco extra. Very quiet compared to other halls which is good for work. Nice staff and cleaned once a week.

Good way to meet new people at the start of uni. Staff are generally quite helpful. Quite far from campus

Not worth the extortionate amount of money you pay just to have an en suite. Really far away from shops, the nearest tesco is like a 20 minute walk. Pretty dead in terms of parties - if you're looking for a quiet place then QM is the one. Our boiler has broken at least 5 times leaving us with no hot water to shower with, no heating etc. The staff are lovely though and really go out of their way to help you and make you feel at home.

Nice halls with a decent size bedroom and kitchen. Too far out location wise and doesn’t have any couches. Social area is good however could use a revision room for some quiet.

Great location and very helpful staff however the facilities weren’t optimal - boiler broke often and main door key system was broken for days.

Facilities are good even though not very modern. Good as has ensuite. Kitchen facilities are also good and handy because a cleaner comes in once a week to clean the common areas. Also there is a common room with a pool table and tv and table tennis table which is fun

The location is a bit further from the university than I'd like but the halls are new, clean and ensuite which are more important factors for me. The rooms are large and well heated. My flat is single sex and has girls from Scotland, England and other parts of the world. The common areas are generally clean and the weekly cleaning service is always lovely. Repairs are down quite quickly after faults have been reported.

Nice halls but our heating was constantly broken, they kept claiming to have fixed it and taking away our temporary portable heaters but it always broke again and they refused to replace our boiler even though it was clearly never going to properly work. Came back from chairman’s holidays to a freezing flat and couldn’t get heaters or hot water as the office was closed. We complained and were only awarded £50 each as compensation when our lack of heating would definitely have cost us more than that

These were extremely spacious and clean halls in an excellent location. The halls were organised in such a way to create tight bonds between flatmates whilst also allowing entire blocks to create larger communities.
