Guildford overall is a nice place. It's got a town decent town centre but it's also got the countryside. It's a nice mix of the busy life and the quiet life. Night life isn't fantastic but I can't really complain. I wish the big supermarkets like Tesco and Aldi weren't so far away though. There's a Sainsbury's but I'm poor and can't really afford to shop there often.

There is a great choice of restaurants in Guildford which range in price. There are many popular high street brands which are popular with students. Few clubs but lots of cocktail bars and a large variety of pubs to choose from. Lots of areas surrounding Guildford to explore- Surrey Hills, London is close, Brighton is easily accessible etc. Shopping in Guildford is quite expensive as most of the shops are good quality brand names, The Friary does however offer a wide range of shops which you find in most larger towns/ cities. It is quite an expensive place for students to live due to the popularity of the uni.

Guildford is a great place, there are many different food outlets and shops, and the high street is beautiful. It has everything a city would have but the extra of it having beautiful scenery too. The mount for example is a fantastic spot for a picnic or just some time alone away from the world. The nightlife is decent but it’s not an extreme party town, this doesn’t affect me much because I’m not a partier, so I like the simple few places they have to hang out. Guildford’s biggest problem however is there’s no 24 hour McDonald’s, the only McDonald’s they have is inside the friary shopping centre, which means you can only get McDonald’s when the shopping centre is open.

Nights out are good. Most people start with pre drinks at Spoons and then go for either Bar Thirteen or Casino. Also Popworld for 90s classics. High street is beautiful with cobbled streets. Plenty of shops in the Friary (shopping centre) and additional shops like New Look and TKMaxx. Supermarkets like Sainsbury's higher up. Restaurants dotted all over from the bottom of the high street to the top.

Love a night out! The town is highly energetic and has plenty to offer for everyone. Various restaurants, bars, clubs, shops and a cinema are located right in the heart of Guildford. With a lively Student atmosphere, the social life is among the best is the south of England.

I pretty much chose this location because of its proximity to London. However, it instead seems to have all the negatives of living in London and few of the positives. The main way students travel are through the Arriva bus company, which is show, unreliable, and has 2-3 drivers that will always be rude and condescending. You will be better off buying a bike or car. In terms of nightlife, there are 3 or 4 lowly clubs excluding the student union. Personally I'm not a big fan of any, but this at least provides an option for people to choose which one they like. Shopping can be an okay experience, there are many of the popular brand names in town but they are all mostly housed in the Friary, a shopping center which closes way too early on almost all days. Thankfully most of the restaurants are not situated in the Friary, so you have a fairly good choice to try the one you want; however it doesn't take long for you to run out of options because there's not an unlimited supply of restaurants, but there's still a good amount. I can't complain too much in terms of entertainment. There are a couple of music venues and a movie theater, but it's so close to London that you can just be in the south bank in no more than an hour and entertain yourself to your heart's content. It's value for money is obscene and can only be described as very slightly better than London. Bars are expensive, the housing market is ridiculous, and the price of university accommodation is almost worse than living in town. The only way they can make it seem like a better option is with their shared rooms, in which toilets and showers are completely communal, but of course that is going to be cheaper than living in town.

It’s okay, nights out limited to only a few spots and lacks depth although the big nights are decent but get very packed as not much choice so everyone goes to same spots. Lots of stores so places to shop on high street, not too many things to do. Very limited with only a few things like ice skating or trampolining. The value for money isn’t great overall if I’m honest, but if your sole purpose is education then it’s more than great.

Yeah it's bless, good uni, good nightlife. Locations Gucci. This has to be 100 plus characters but I have not got very much at all to speak about regarding the quality of Guildford it's a very charming place and I would recommend it very much.

Ideal location right next to town centre meaning that when we have breaks in between lectures we don’t have to hang around the uni, we can go shopping, get fast food or even eat a proper meal at one of the many restaurants.

The night life is very average, pretty much just the union. It is a very expensive town, accdomidaton is limited and excessively priced and as it is a very nice area so are the surrounding pubs/ restaurants. The shopping is quite good, most shops and a very pleasant atmosphere.

Guildford’s is not very good in my opinion. I feel like I am trapped when I am here. The town centre has a variety of shops, but there are many popular shops that are no where to be seen. The only major shop within walking distance (15 mins) of the uni is Tesco. This is 24 hours which is helpful but it’s a bit of a walk. Living off of campus is very expensive as there aren’t many student houses available in Guildford aswell. There are buses, I’ve never gotten one, student nights are mediocre to say the least... there’s a dust old odeon cinema and that’s about it

Location of the uni is quite convenient and quiet, good for studying and going out. Walking to town and Tesco is just 15 mins max. Library is in the perfect center of the uni, and got restaurant and convenient store nearby. However, bus is quite expensive, walking is a better choice, since you can get fit at the same time!
