The night life can get a bit stale after a while but there are plenty of pubs which is good for a crawl! The vast majority of the food and resturants in guildford are amazing, and do a wide variety of food from around the world. the shopping centre (the friary) is awesome for food and clothing. My only criticisms are the lack of things to do after a while and everything is rather pricey.

Guildford is easily accessible and is a vibrant town with many shops and restaurants. There are a good number of bars and 3 main nightclubs in town. The town is fairly expensive however due to it being a commuter town in Surrey.

Lovely location but limited nightlife. Some shopping and good restaurants with a wide variety to choose from. Campus is close to town which makes it very convenient for students to visit. The castle is also a great place to sit and relax.

Location was one of the main things why I chose to study in University of Surrey - Guildford is extremely beautiful town and has everything a typical student would need - beautiful parks to study or chill at, campus, lots of shops to do some shopping etc. Night life isnt the best, but London is just 30mins away by train!

The area is quite nice and if you're in the right spot the views are amazing and there are some awesome places to relax. It's not the cheapest of places which is a downfall and there are very few nightclubs so once you've been a few times it gets a bit dull. The people in the area are so friendly though and always willing to recommend great places to eat.

Though Guildford is considered expensive by all (it’s hella expensive), it’s very scenic and has amazing green areas you can visit. The shopping centres are also pretty decent and I hear the nightlife is great although I can not confirm this. It’s a stones throw from London which makes commuting extremely easy.

Guildford is best for bars and shopping rather than clubs. Can be quite quiet but is a nice town to live in!

Guildford has to offer almost everything you need in a sole town: the biggest brands, a good variety of restaurants and many different bars and clubs for all tastes. His proximity to London also makes it the perfect place to live if you’re looking for both tranquility at times but also lots of fun at easy reach.

The location of the uni is really convenient, there is a night club on campus 2 minutes away from student houses, it's about 20 minutes walk from Tesco which is also not bad and 10 minutes walk from the station and city center.

Guildford is a nice town on 30 minutes by train or 1 hour by bus to London. One of the reasons why I chose Guildford is because I was told that it is very close to London but the prices (especially of the houses) are much cheaper than London, however this is not so true. A double room in a house which is not that close to the centre starts from £550pm and I even have friends paying £750pm. However, the transport links are good but if you are going by coach to most of the places you need to make a change in London in order to get to, for example, Stansted Airport, Cambridge or Manchester. The buses half of the time are late so if it is in a walking distance and you are in a rush, just walk it or uber it! The main clubs are Bar Thirteen, Casino and Rubix (University of Surrey). Casino frequently has rapers coming to perform live and has 2 floors of different music genres, Bar Thirteen also has two floors but it is a bit smaller, Rubix has parties every Wednesday and Friday when it is absolutely packed, as well as on a Reggaeton night! In terms of shopping, the only mall is the Friary Center where there is not much but enough such as Zara, Topshop, Primark and food hall. There is Odeon Cinema and Spectrum where one can play bowling, swim or go ice-skating. However, there are so many different types of restaurants and bars where you can catch up with friends or even make new ones, which is the biggest advantage!

The campus is very green and has some beautiful, natural spots to relax in such as a lake. The location of the campus is very good for transportation - close to London via train, close to the M25 to get to various London airports and the amount of buses, taxis and ubers suits the town's demand. This is also a great place for business prosperity and overall the campus is located in a great place for student work and placement opportunities.

Edinburgh has a range of something for everyone. There is a lot of cultural activities, museums, galleries, history etc. The nightlife is varied - there's a good selection of nicer clubs and bars on George street and also a range of cheaper alternatives in cowgate/grassmarket.

The University of Surrey campus is located at the heart of Guildford and is within the vicinity of the train station, town centre and a 24hr Tesco. The town centre has a huge range of shops meaning you can get almost anything last minute from there, as well as cater your taste buds to practically any cuisine you can imagine. At night there is a range of pubs and bars that see quite a student few pub crawls throughout the year, with a couple of fairly average nightclubs. Properties in Guildford are above average making accommodation prices in Guildford expensive and comparable to those in London. Trains to London Waterloo run several times an hour, so you can get into the Capital with ease for a night out or concert. Locally, transport runs frequently between town, main campus and the two other residential campuses and are great value for money for those buying student season passes. Overall living in Guildford is great for those wanting a taste of the traits that a big city can offer, with a twist of countryside infused available for your choosing. However, these benefits won't run cheap.

Firstly, unless you’re a member of the royal family and have millions of good old £’s at your disposal, being a student here is a right struggle. I have studied here for four years and the cheapest rent I have paid is £420 without bills... it has increased by a fair old bit each year so currently paying a hefty £600 with bills. Considering student finance doesn’t account for this, it means working a job alongside your degree (unless you’re a millionaire or have very kind parents). That being said, everything from a weekly shop at the local co-op to the double gin & coke’s on a night out will set you back. It is home to the student union club “Rubix” with the same old songs and first year lads drunk on VK’s and trying to hit on you.. but it’s still a great night out with the right people! Then we have “Thirteen” which literally costs £13 to get in and then about £7/8 for a single spirit & mixer... but failing that, there’s a spoons and several lovely pubs / cocktail bars which are probably the safest bet! Overall, it’s a beautiful “pride & prejudice” type location with lovely scenery and ideal spots to sit and read a book. If you’re after a location where you don’t have to live out of your bank overdraft every day then this isn’t the place for you.

Guildford is an amazing town to have been a part of. It has amazing shops and great places to eat. There are also great places to go and explore, like the castle, and beautiful walks to be had do b the river. There are a selection of clubs in town, and ther is also one in university itself. However, living costs are high here, which is perhaps the greatest downfall. Overall, it’s a great experience to live here.

The nightlife is mildly limited and the clubs not super varied but you can still have an awesome night out and the ‘spoons has a dance floor. The town itself is nice and quiet and very charming in parts. Campus is the beft part of being at uni in this town, it’s so lush and green and very much separate from the town so you feel a great atmosphere and spirit and vibe from the hustle and bustle on campus form your fellow uni students.
