Manor Park

The location is good, it is near the university and Tesco so it’s really convenient. There is a cafe near the reception, and there are two laundrettes for students to use.

Firstly, the location of Manor Park is amazing, since it’s just 20 minutes walk from the university and a 7 minute walk from the Sports Park and Tesco. The Halls are in great condition, always refurnishing the “older” buildings in the block and whenever something is faulty, people will come and fix it in no more than two days! Regular inspections & fire alarm tests are happening throughout the semester for our own safety and security is provided 24/7. However, it is quite an expensive accommodation for university halls (£144pppw for en-suite!!!), as the university took advantage of the fact that there is just one other student accomodation & it’s super expensive.

Lucky enough to be given the brand new flats, I was the first occupier of my room, was really happy with everything, i stayed in an en-suite, the toilet within my room was really nice, hot water was always running, my room is good for its price

Manor Park is aesthetically nice, my flat I believe was one of the first to be built so is one of the oldest with no lift like the more modern halls. This can be annoying at times for example today my luggage was extremely heavy coming back from my home, going up the stairs was an absolute nightmare as I'm top of the 3 flats. Aside from this, the rooms are spacious with lots of cupboard and closet space with a clean en-suite. In terms of flatmates, they're alright and pretty clean too.

Good facilities. Location quite far away from everything e.g. Town/main campus. Good room, could use a mirror. Lovely people.

Staying in the modern rooms I have a ensuite. My room is nice and in a good condition, has a good wifi signal and ample storage space. Kitchen is huge and very modern! My flatmates are really nice even if 3 dont really engage with the rest.

Overpriced and not that good. Spent around two months here so far and don't have many friends yet. Some kitchens are small and some are big. There's no mirrors in some rooms which I think isn't fair.

Being separated from the uni itself is quite nice and the rooms are a very good size. The bus service into town is also great to have although the timings are very unreliable. This isn't much of a problem in the day when they come very regularly but in the evening it can be irritating. The kitchens are a bit hit and miss and my flat's is very exposed right by where people like to go to smoke so opening the windows when cooking is unpleasant sometimes. Other than that the accommodation is great. Comfy beds, a nice separated feel between work and home and easy connections to elsewhere. The free WiFi routers in each room is also a great touch.

Not the most spacious bedroom but has everything i need and the surroundings and beautifull. Sometimes its hard for me to sleep because of the noise people make outside and on other rooms or even upper floors (u hear EVERYTHING) and i feel like being faced to other buildings could be a bummer for someone who enjoys privacy with their windows opened but overall love my cosy nook.

The room size is very good and the size of the kitchen too. Although the shower and room could have been cleaner before we moved in as I had to clean and vacuum it properly before unpacking. The noise level is good too.

Manor Park is the best student accommodation at University of Surrey! It is located in a very green and quiet area, 2 minutes away from Surrey Sports Park and 5-10 minutes away by walk from Tesco Superstore! There is Heart and Soul restaurant in the campus where I highly recommend the burgers and the cappuccino! The room is lovely and the fact that you have your own private bathroom definitely provides great value for your money! However, if you do not like walking 20-25 minutes to the main campus therefore you should get a bus pass! In fact, you can use the Vet School for studying for finals where it is modern, empty and quiet instead of going to the library in the main campus where you may not find a free spot! Overall, I definitely recommend the campus!!!!

Manor park is ok but there is very few common rooms and laundries. It’s not the best value for money either .

Great apartment, near Tesco and the sports centre. Wasn't too far from Uni but could do with becoming a little bit more modern. For example better ovens (maybe built in ones) and maybe a nice sofa or comfy chairs in the common areas.

Very nice facilities and close to the sports park and Tesco's. However is quite expensive and far from uni and the town centre but the buses are good.

The facilities and the room itself are lovely and very well equipped however, being a 40 minute walk to the station and an almost 50 minute walk to town centre makes the location undesirable. Additionally I have found it difficult to socialise with a lot of my flatmates as they come from very different backgrounds to myself and have a vastly differing outcome of their university experience compared to mine.

Room and kitchen was nice, flatmates were annoying. The fact that you couldn't choose or even fill out a questionnaire to say what your preferences are (ie. normal sleeping hours) meant people who liked being noisy or liked going out all the time (meaning they were noisy most nights) would be living with people who were completely disliked this. It didn't make it better that my flatemates (especially the one next door) didn't really turn down their loud booming music when I asked them to. Really annoying. All in all, it is a nice room. Just the kitchen was a mess and the noise levels exceeded normal levels which was a problem with my flatemates. Nothing new and a story that has probably been told before.

There is a high standard of halls on Manor Park regarding the accommodation itself. It’s very clean, the reception desk is helpful and the maintenance is really great for a first year student. Honestly the kitchen, bathroom and laundry facilities are all relatively new and kept in good condition, with only minor faults. However, Manor Park lacks any sort of social hub, other than the occasional events down at the quiet on site restaurant, there is really no common area to meet people in other blocks and kitchens can get overcrowded easily. There are common rooms in some blocks but these need to be booked in advance and as a result no one uses them! There should be a large common room at the end of each street so that people can mingle play pool and just hang out!

The maintenance of the rooms on Manor Park are of a high standard. The kitchen facilities, ensuite bathrooms and cleanliness does make these accommodation halls appealing. However, there is no social hub or activities for first years regarding the locations of these halls. Other than the occasional event down at the local on site, usually quiet, restaurant, there is really no where to meet others on Manor Park. There are common rooms for rent which no one uses, it should therefore consider a common room area in each block with a tv, pool table etc..

Clean and nice halls, kitchens were average! Quite expensive for what you get but better value than on campus accommodation. Only downfall is quite a walk to campus so a bus pass is required and you have to pay for a WiFi box.

I don't mind the walk to uni everyday however the accomodation itself had had many faults for me including with the shower, sink, fridge and my heating.

Really clean campus, decent size rooms and en suite. Could she done with a more social area so people didn’t have to sit in their rooms all day.
