The halls at Inverness are in a really good location, a 5 minute walk from the UNI and a 20 minute walk from town which is very helpful. The WiFi can be quite slow at times but that's alright, the main issue for me with these halls are the washing facilities. There aren't many washing machines and dryers at all, only 5 between us all and so I and a few others have started having to hand wash our clothes. Better for the environment and the clothes, granted, but it's pretty time consuming and difficult. My social experience in halls has been great, I've met a tonne of people I love here and many from other countries which is cool. It would be really nice to have some kind of social area or common room for all students living here to get together in though.

Generally these halls are decent value for money, all of you're bills are included for £469 a month for roughly ten months and the buildings are fairly decent. However, I did find the location and the availability of building maintenance rather disappointing. The halls buildings are located within the University campus just next to Raigmore Estate which I wouldn't advise going through alone anytime after it starts getting dark. You've got a choice of two retail parks, both containing a Tesco Extra. Eastfield has a Cineworld, Homebase, Argos, Pets at Home, River Island, New Look (which has a Starbucks in it), Next, Outfit and a couple of other things. Inshes has a Matalan, hobbycraft, Dobbies, (which has a The Works in it), a gym (not sure which company but it looks nice), a B&M and a couple of other things too. Both are a 10-15 minute walk away from the halls and the tescos are 24 hr. Raigmore Estate also has a Scotmid which is a five minute walk over the bridge (go down the bike ramp and go straight down the path at the side of the houses, rather than towards the play park with the skate park. Keep going straight for about five minutes and you'll spot it) which is open from 7am-10pm. Stocks a decent amount but no soya milk as a heads up. Lactose intolerants and vegans beware. While I will admit this is all pretty good so far the major downside is the if you don't drive its a 20 minute bus journey for the city center which currently run every 20 or so minutes. Otherwise a taxi costs around £15. The hospital is also fairly close, situated in Raigmore. As far as maintenance goes I was really disappointed. There are four blocks, Beauly, Cromarty, Grouse and Ospery. Beauly and Cromarty are connected by the reception which everyone can access but in order to access the separate blocks your key card has to be able to open them, ie you have to live in that block to access it. Grouse and Ospery are separate blocks which stand alone and also require a specific door key to access. Grouse is let out to holiday makers which means the parking lot (which is quite small but we'll come to that) can get very busy very quickly when a large group is renting out some of the flats in Grouse for a week. I was situated in Ospery. My door lock was broken and unable to lock and wasn't fixed untill Christmas. The flat across from ours had a broken front door which didn't lock properly either so anyone with access to our building was able to just walk in to that flat. On top of this, Beauly (one of the ones connected by reception) had a broken access door meaning that anyone that could access the reception could enter it. As far as I'm aware it took around a month to fix but I'm not entirely sure. I will say that the head of our halls was very understanding of the fact that they needed to be fixed right away but it was difficult to get them fixed as they do not control that decision. I would like it known that I am in no way trying to pin the balm on anyone within Cityheart Living but I was very disappointed with the service. I am aware of multiple other faults within the buildings but these are the ones I would consider most important when considering a flat.
