Only 3 clubs local, great variety of restaurants and cuisine, amazing choices of shops. Great local shopping center so no need To travel far to go shopping. Great choices of sports clubs that are local as well. Flats/house rental prices aren't bad at all for London with fairly large living spaces available

Despite being seen as a town on the outskirts of London this has so much o it's advantage, you have all the benefits of having London on your doorstep and the travel that cone with it without the worry about being in central and the money that comes with it. For shopping theres the Bentall's centre which has almost every store you'd need and with 4 clubs the nightlife isn't bad either!

This location is very beautiful. Its a small town in Greater London. There are beautiful riversides in Putney and Kingston full of cocktail bars, pubs and clubs for all ages.

Kingston is a great area. It has fantastic transport with a 35 minute commute into London and regular buses to get where you want to go. Kingston has lots of cafes, pubs and restaurants; it also has a market area in the main town. Kingston high street is complete with lots of shops from stationary to bath products to clothes and a Christmas market every year. The Christmas market stalls change every year but the market has sold wood carvings, cheeses and jewelry for the past few years. The hog roast stand is not to be missed. Kingston-upon-Thames follows the estuary and this is a fantastic walk with friends or a good place to run.

Kingston has been an amazing for a first year at Uni. The London transport makes it really easy to get around and it's only 30 mins to Waterloo which is great for nights out and gigs (especially with some of the buses being 24h). It's great being so close to Richmond park and Wimbledon common extension for walks and cycling as well as the riverside. The shopping is Kingston is fantastic and the pubs and clubs (4 main ones) are great! Coming from a seaside town it's been as really good play to get the best of city and country/town life.

Kingston is such a lovely area and very welcoming to students. Student night is a great time out in one of the three main clubs in walking distance. It is also just one train ride from central london. Such a great place to live. A market every monday with fresh foods available. Everything you could ask for.

The location of my university is the best. Its the kingston University located at Penrhyn Road which is located in a convenient distance from the town centre that has all the amaze food joints, shopping arena and famous clubs. The Penrhyn road area itself is a posh area having local shops and restaurants with good value for money that students can afford. Public transport is easily available and the stops are almost right outside the University. A quiet location with serene atmosphere

Kingston upon thames is a beautiful town to live in. Not only have you got the thames as a view, there are a wide range of great restaurants, activities, and clubs to explore and experience. Every shop that you will need is at your doorstep, no need to travel into busy and tiring central london; but if you do desire this its only 20 minute train journey to London Waterloo. There is busking around every corner with talented artists that get discovered all the time, and german food markets at christmas with amazing sausages and stein beers to offer!

Beautiful location along the river thames with the sun usually setting just behind the bridge. Fantastically located - not too far from central London but far enough to feel like you’re in a different country entirely. Victorian-style buildings around the town, great markets and high street shops all over and the remarkable Bentall’s Centre is at your availability too. Lovely restaurants, bars and pubs and there are a few good clubs to cater for all music fans too. Great transport links throughout the day and the evening. A few night buses operate, which take you all the way to central London within an hour and a half.

The location of my campus was in the right place, it was away from the main town centre and quite secluded. This made it peaceful to be on, espically as the campus had a modern feel with a lot of greenery around. The food on campus was the best and it was quite expensive too which made me even less likely to eat it. I did not go out much but there was a night life that welcomed all of the 3 local universities and when I did go out I enjoyed myself.

I think Kingston University is amazing location wise, it’s 30 minute train journey to Waterloo so not too far from central but a much nice and more chilled environment to live and study in. As it’s on the Thames you can take lovely walks along the river and even go for boat rides to Richmond/Hampton Court. There’s tons of great restaurants and shops (a bentall centre), as well as a daily food market. There’s a few different clubs dotted about which is good, and a few pretty decent music venues too which means there’s usually something interesting going on. Living costs are a little expensive but not as bad as central London.

Kingston is London but not really London but still London. If you’re an international student and you’ve come to experience London I think the best choice is to come to somewhere like Kingston, it’s a quaint town in zone 6 and doesn’t give you the overwhelming business that central London does but if you want to go into London, train from Kingston is half an hour into London or you could go to surbiton and get the fast train which will take 15 minutes. Kingston is a very picturesque town especially during spring/summer, the river is a nice place to sit and study or just chill with your friends.

Kingston is like central london without all the tourists. You are a walk away from shops, bars, pubs, clubs, park, restaurants, EVERYTHING. I found it a great place to live and have stayed here for 2 more years. It is such an easy, fun and yet safe place to live.

As an international student, living and studying in Kingston upon Thames is amazing. It's a good blend between city and country. It's busier than my home town but not to metropolitan that it's overwhelming. Studying abroad is not always easy, but Kingston has such a strong sense of community and I found my place and felt like a local after only a couple of weeks. Kingston has a lot to offer, leaving you no time to feel homesick.

Just far enough away from London that living costs go down but close enough, so that it’s easy to travel into London. Also if you enjoy London nightlife you are able to travel back to Kingston via night buses, hence making it very inexpensive!
