Was very happy with Lyddon Hall overall. Great central location and a very sociable hall. The common areas are amazing for socialising with the pool table and large Tv. Being catered makes this hall great value for money although the meals do become slightly repetitive. Some rooms vary quite a lot in size but even the smallest ones are not too bad. Good kitchen facilities for each floor. Could not recommend highly enough. There are around 45 rooms in the main hall and a couple of hundred in the surrounding annexes. The main hall rooms are most popular but the annexes are nice too.

Lyddon was the perfect place to settle into uni life and living in a whole new place. I would highly recommend living on campus and being catered first year - it takes away any of that stress and helps you to fully enjoy your first year whilst giving you a great and easy way to see people to eat together for every meal and take a break from the work together!

My experience was 5 stars. I was in the main hall but what they try and hide from visitors on the open days is that when applying to lyddon you could be assigned into a selection of terraced houses behind the main hall, some as small as 4 rooms per house. Great location on campus. In main hall rooms are a lot larger than your normal halls rooms with 3/4 beds on the first three floors. Shared bathrooms between 3 students, but these get daily by the cleaners so not a problem. Catered in the Refectory a large selection of foods and very felxible can eat anytime it's open. Same food package as Charles Morris but for a much more reasonable price. Main hall consists of 50 rooms in a large house which is very sociable with two common rooms which had a pool table and a piano. The halls manager was always very friendly and went above and beyond to make sure students settled.

The room was big, had a double leg bed and a nice view of a tree outside. There was a problem with the heating all year where it sounded like a pneumatic drill digging up concrete. The problem was only sorted after 8 months of complaining the the main office. It was catered for but this made accommodation extremely expensive. The food is overpriced and crap too.

Lyddon Hall was a great experience whilst studying at the University of Leeds. It has 2 very large common rooms that were ideal for socialising as well as kitchen areas.Though it was quite expensive, it is worth it for its location. My room was quite small but the other rooms in the building were rather large.
