Possibly the worst accommodation ever. Nearly every appliance in our kitchen was broken on arrival, and our bathroom was mouldy with a blocked drain. Walls are paper thin so no chance of sleeping/working properly!! The cheapest accommodation in Liverpool city centre and it really shows, only good thing was a location. Would recommend if you like living like a scruff!

Close to town which was really convenient however the halls weren't particularly nice. You get what you for... and £91 isn't bad for what you get ! Great WiFi no problems there !

Location is great for science students with lectures at Byrom street: it is about 5 mins walking and 10 mins into the city centre, so it's also great for nights out. Facilities are ok, we never got as many inspections as we were supposed to. The decor is as expected for student halls: a bit clinical and plain, if anything the ugly brown carpets should be replaced and maybe more modern furniture. In addition, I understand that people have lived in my room previously but there were cigarette burns on the sink, mattress stains and makeup marks on the walls that looks as though they hadn't even tried to remove I love that I had my own sink in the room as I initially worried about sharing a bathroom with three other people. The Wi-Fi was supposed to be 50mbps but it was never this high. The last time I check, the download speed was 33.6kbps! My favourite thing about Marybone was the events organised: moving in parties with free Domino's pizza, the bi-weekly running club and even guide dogs came to visit! It felt like a real community and I am sad to leave.

Great location, can fall out of bed into uni if need be. Plus town is a short five minute walk away.

Can fall out of bed into the lecture hall if need be. Right next to the main library, also the city centre is a short five minute walk.

The location is amazing, I’m a three minute walk from my campus and just about ten minutes to the city centre for shopping, clubs and food places. The staff are very friendly and helpful and regularly organise social activities such as free pizza party’s, movie nights, and there is also a twice weekly running club that anyone can attend. My room is a decent size, it’s a single with shared bathrooms so between six people there are two bathrooms which would be nice to have the cleaners help us with because they can be quite disgusting but we have to deal with them ourselves. The showers are ok, although the water pressure could be better. The halls are quite loud at night as they’re filled with freshers who go out all the time, but as I’m one as well it doesn’t bother me because I’m usually out as well.

It is very near to my campus but I wish it's nearer to the city. Room is great but it has bad sound proofing that I can hear my upstairs flat blasting music every night. I can also hear people singing in the middle of the night at the courtyard. Other than bad soundproof everything is nice

The building is in prime location from town and university. The atmosphere around the whole place is always good. The staff are always very helpful no matter what time of day it is

If you're looking for an affordable halls of residence, then Marybone 1 is the place to be. Not only is it affordable but it's a five minute walk away from the city centre! Marybone makes a flat a home by offering great services, such as a welcome Pizza Party that got everyone together for some pizza and booze (all free of course), and frequent events such as ‘Disco Kitchens’ where you can learn to cook whilst partying at the same time. All the onsite staff are friendly and helpful, and if something breaks in your flat then the caretakers are quick to have a look and help you out. If you're a fitness fanatic, then you'll enjoy the gym inside the building along with the weekly running club that Marybone provides. Plus, it's a short distance away from most LJMU buildings, so you're not only getting a bit of exercise but you're saving money from transport. For a first year, Marybone is the place to be and you'll enjoy everything that it, and Liverpool has to offer.
