Amazing location, social aspect is amazing (aka carnibar). The accommodation is catered so nice to come home to food, the pool table is really cool and the bar is extremely cheap

Brilliant student halls for anyone looking for reasonably priced accommodation. Freshly cooked meals and good bathroom facilities + showers. Nice sized rooms and a kitchen with microwave, sink and toaster. Would highly recommend for any new students of Uni of Liverpool.

The halls are miles away from the uni so we have to buy a bus card for a year that cost £300. The halss are awful, my room is tiny and there is no common/ social living area. Also no where to sit and eat. I am catered but the food is awful and i never eat in the canteen as it gives me awful flashbacks to school dinners. We are the only halls in the village though to have a hob and an oven, but thats about it.

The breakfast is amazing, choice of full English, porridge, cereal and yoghurt. However, that is the only positive aspect. No sink or mirrors in the rooms, no social space in the block. The queue for dinner was absolutely ridiculous, most food was gone by 6 and if you did manage to get there in time it was usually inedible.

Worst accomodation imaginable, severe mould and damp in the walls which resulted in my flatmate getting moulds shoes. The food is disgusting to the point somebody has gone veggie because she's so disgusted by the state of the meat here. Showers are awful, kitchens are tiny so there is no room to socialise and therefore no common room. Actually no, there is one common room about the size of two of the miniature kitchens split between 14 blocks with 3 floors of 12 people each, work out how fun that is to socialise with all of us in there. Cheap bar though.

The location was nice, although a bus pass was needed that wasn't included and there was very little social space in winter.

I loved it here. When I first got put in Carnatic I was not happy as it is known for being the ugliest accommodation. However, I preferred this in the end. At Crown Place and all the other fancier accommodations, you need a keycard to access people's rooms and it's sort of like being in a hotel. In carnatic you can leave your door unlocked so your mates can come easily into your room and chill. It's definitely the best socially, as the security team are a lot more lenient than at any other halls about mess and noise. Eating together was sometimes the only way you'd get to chat to certain flatmates. The field was great in summer to chill on and loads of people from other accommodations end up coming to visit because it's unique to carnatic. The buses are reliable and the location is good as it's near supermarkets and sefton park.

The halls was a bit run down but great in terms of social experience. Was so easy to meet people and make friends. Glad I was here rather than a more fancy on campus one.

The location was good because it is very separate form the uni so downtime was very chilled, but the commute and the price of bus tickets wasn’t great. The food was fairly decent although they could do with some more healthy stuff. Also the times are fine but for people with evening commitments the dining times may be a problem. The hall itself (Morton) was very dated and surprisingly we paid the same rent as the newer halls that had more facilities and nicer areas than we did (ie a common room, drying rooms, sinks in the bedrooms, study areas etc that we did not have). The showers were decent and never had a problem with waiting for a shower/toilet. The kitchen was very small but workable although a bigger fridge would’ve been appreciated and maybe a freezer. The people in my block (Morton F) were all lovely and I was very lucky to meet my housemates for next year. The stairs run up through the centre of the block so with thin walls there were some minor noise issues with people coming in late at night. The bar is cheap and a nice place to hang out midweek.

Carnatic student village is quite outdated as indicated by the fact that it’s going to be knocked down next year. We don’t have en suite bathrooms or double beds like many of the other uni accommodations and we have flats of 10-12 people in Morton House. However, that isn’t as nightmarish as I thought it would be before I came here as the social experience is amazing, particularly when it’s sunny and everyone can sit out on the massive stretch of grass in the middle of the student village and we have a bar seconds away from our rooms with cheap drinks. The catered food is bland but the breakfast is pretty good, although in my opinion we pay far too much money for what we get. Overall, Carnatic isn’t great in terms of facilities and general quality but the social life here more than makes up for it.

It may be off campus, but out of all uni accommodations in liverpool it is by far the most social, including shared toilets and showers so you become much closer to your flat

The location of the halls means you get a nice separation from the uni campus and home, whilst only being a short busride away. It's so social in Carnatic and the facilities are basic but all you need.

nowhere to socialise except the corridors, small kitchen but cleaned daily and catered. Carnatic is fun though, lots of parties and a bar on site with really cheap drinks and pizza !

The rooms are Okay, it's catered and the was was average, social life was great on Carnatic however!

Good social experience you’ll meet some great people the food is ok mostly the facilities are basic but clean WiFi is poor and signal depends on where you are

Love my flat mates to pieces, however if you’re staying in carnatic I would advise not going for morton or LMH as they are about 20 years older than the other buildings with far less facilities yet the rent is the same. Food isn’t too bad for catered, and the staff are mostly very kind and friendly.

The accommodation is very outdated - there is no modern looking interior decoration, and no WiFi in the student rooms (instead you have to plug your laptop into an Ethernet cable), and you can’t have a TV in your room as there aren’t any satellite dishes. The food is okay, but there is a lack of cooking facilities for students - the meals provided can be unappetising or the same each week which gets boring. However, there is a great social and party atmosphere.

No Wi-Fi, damp and mouldy, terrible food, no social areas, a long bus ride away (and no transport provided if the busses strike), all for the amazing deal of £150 a week. Would not halls again.

Socially speaking, it is unrivalled with the other uni accommodations. It is a great way to meet loads of people. The rooms are a good size as well, but the lack of a social area is pretty shocking as it makes it hard to hang out with your flat unless you just stand in the corridors. it is also an hour walk away from uni so there is no option but to take the bus (which is a pain when there are bus strikes all the time like this year).

It has the best social experience out of all the halls from talking to other students but the actual standard of living leaves something to be desired. It serves a purpose but it would be nice to not have paint peeling off all over the place. Theres also no common room and a really small kitchen for 12 people.

Morton House is very outdated and finished to an incredibly low standard. Rooms often had large cracks and mould. Very expensive compared to private student houses.
