Bankside House (LSE)

The hall overall is a great place to be especially given the bad reputation of an unsocial LSE student life. Bankside House provides a social environment that makes it extremely easy to make new friends. Facilities are relatively old, but maintained very well. Though kitchens may be a bit unclean due to the inevitable laziness of students, cleaners come in every day to clean up the kitchens. Moreover, the food in this catered hall is exceptionally good. Location can be a bit of a trek to walk to LSE, especially on rainy days, but other than that, I have had an amazing experience at Bankside House and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for new friends and a good time!

I really enjoyed staying at Bankside and would recommend it wholeheartedly. Fantastic location with the Tate Modern, Borough Market and a good selection of shops/supermarkets/restaurants nearby, and a pleasant walk to LSE. The hall itself is quite modern and well-kept, has good facilities, many en-suites and the food is also decent.

Although it’s a bit far away, Bankside is a big hall with many diverse students. Canteen food quality may vary from time to time, but there is an awesome bar with a large area for socialising, including sofas, pool, and a big screen for movies. The facilities are adequately managed and cleaned, with responsible staff and hall committee to try to make sure we get to social with other residents.

My room is a single with a shared bathroom and is of a decent size. Bathrooms are cleaned termly and you only share with one other person. Although a bit old fashioned, it is quite a nice hall to stay in and you’re bound to find friends as there are so many people staying here. Food can be hit or miss but overall decent.

An excellent hall with good facilities, very secure with good food and nice kitchens. Very social as the biggest LSE hall and has a bar. Excellent location a very scenic walk from LSE.
