The location of LPH was great. And what a lovely area to live in too. From Paddington, I could walk to all areas I frequent: university (Bloomsbury), Tottenham Court Road, oxford street and Hyde park. Being such a heavily tourist populated area, there was never too much noise. Condition wise, LPH was very livable. It wasn’t luxury accommodation - but we knew that. A lot of the common areas were worn down. They semmed to renovate the last few weeks of our living there. The social experience was the best thing about LPH. Since the rooms and bathrooms were individual, and most of us were on catered contracts, you had to use the common room for socialising. And you could always bet that someone was going to be there. Derek the hall warden would also throw regular cava nights which helped people to socialse. As if that wasn’t enough, we would also get free pizza when we all watched something special on TV: like game of thrones or the notebook.
