The location of Ramsay can only be topped by a few halls of resident but the 8min walk to uni is a big bonus. It's a very friendly hall where a made most of my friends. The food is good and good portions. The downsides are the cost and the facilities. It's getting very old now so it could do with renovation. The communal space is horrible and not a friendly environment.

The location of the hall is great. It is in the heart of London, only 5 minutes walk to UCL main building. The building itself a little bit old and needs a refurbishment. However, for the money it's a great housing option.

The Hall is very close to Warren street and therefore UCL which is very convenient. It is also the centre of all social activities and freshers pre drinks so if you live here you are bound to meet loads of people and make some friends. However the rooms are not very nice, you usually share a dirty bathroom with a whole hallway and live in small carpeted bedrooms. Also it is catered, so if you like cooking your own food it isnt for you. But depending on what you value more this hall could be where you meet you best friends! It was where I met mine. Not to say that other halls like Gardens or Langton Close don't also have nice social life.

The hall is very close to ucl so it's very nice during winter where you don't have to walk for 10+ minutes in the freezing cold. The hall has quite a lot of space to study and practice your musical skills. The social experience is pretty great as there's always party in the lounge, at least once per week and the room size is pretty decent. Enough room to move around in and store a lot of things

Location was great, convenient to school and to central London with nearby buses and tube stations. Facilities wise, building was getting old, so certain things like the stoves weren't in very good condition. Also, with many pre drinking events, students made a mess of the lounge and in the lifts which was disgusting to come back to.

Good experience in general. Still friends with about half of the people who were on my floor 2 years after I left. Facilities were fine in most cases, but overpriced (including breakfast and dinner - cost £10 a day, they must have made a tidy profit doing that for 400 students). Washers and dryers also overpriced although they claimed it covered the cost of running them and their maintenance. Common areas were alright but a small common area on each corridor (other than the kitchen) would immensely improve the rooms.

Ramsay Hall was the heart of the social life of first year for me, as its interior architecture, though old fashioned, was spacious and boasted an incredibly large common room. This common room would frequently become the evening meet up locations for many first years around the university. The hall was also catered in a large dining hall, providing you with ample opportunity to make friends throughout the academic year. Showers and toilets were shared but always regularly cleaned on weekdays - but not cleaned on Saturdays and Sunday and in the weekend the hall could become quite a state. None the less, and to conclude, this hall is the hall where you are likely to meet the most people in your first year, save time on cooking due to its compulsory catering while having a social dinner and breakfast every day. I would not recommend any other hall in UCL for my first year, despite the hall’s lack of luxury. The location of the hall was also a 3 minute walk away from university, which has a fantastic central London location regardless This provides you with other benefits by simply living in the centre of London. Rooms were rather small and old fashioned however, with low noise insulation from other rooms.

In terms of location, Ramsay was fantastic - being a 10 minute walk from Oxford street, and a 2 minute walk from Tottenham Court Road, and a 15 minute walk from Regent's Park, there were endless options of things to do and see in the area. With bars right next to the halls, Ramsay was the perfect social setting. The pricing however, was rather expensive - £220 pounds a week, but I guess the location is very central and also food was included (breakfast and dinners on weekdays and brunch on weekends). Ramsay is known to be one of the most social halls due to its proximity to UCL and the multiple social spaces - the outside courtyard with tables, the TV room and most importantly the lounge. Furthermore, the dining room and meals being provided gives more of an opportunity to socialise and meet new people every day. The rooms were very small and non ensuite, and the desks provided were very narrow making it hard to work. Furthermore, my room was facing the courtyard which could be very noisy at night. Overall however, Ramsay was fantastic and the perfect halls if you're looking for a very social first year.

Ramsay esa great fin bevande of The tantomount oh people that live in it. It one of the biggest UCL accommodations and you never feel alone. It is located in the heart of London, 19 minutes walk from UCL itself as well as a 25 minutes walk to Covent Garden, oxford Street, Trafalgar Square and so on. The dining hall is a great place to socialise and not having to cook for yourself in first year is a great advantage!! I will always keep good memories of my time spent at Ramsay Hall.

Living in Ramsay is an experience. It has the iconic reputation as UCL's party hall, which is mostly true - the fresher's week was a month-long and certainly wild extravaganza. The building itself is very reminiscent of a prison from the moment you come in and see the two turnstiles either side of the "prison gates." inside the architectural choices are at best questionable, as the corridors are either violently yellow or blue, depending on your block. There are no flats, instead you live on a long corridor, mine was about 31 rooms. We had two small, useless, disgusting kitchens, four even more putrid toilets (two of which were out of service for most of the year) and seven or so showers to share. Ramsay is a catered hall, but the food is not amazing - food poisoning was quite common in my time, and the ladies who work in the dining hall are among the least friendly or hospitable people I have ever met. The lack of a flats layout means that there is only one common room in the halls, the basement lounge, which is good for huge parties and therefore had sticky floors throughout the entire year. My room was tiny, with heating that malfunctioned through most of the winter, there was not enough space for storage. There is one study room near the reception, where I do not remember a functional computer or printer. Overall, the only good thing about Ramsay was its location; you can reach most places on campus in five minutes or less, and it is close by Warren St tube station, as well as walking distance to Oxford St and Soho. However, it is still terrible value for money, and I most definitely regret having paid £210 per week for this mostly traumatic experience.

Location was fantastic, could get from bed to my first class in 10 minutes if needs be!! Facilities were okay, good canteen but study room too small for almost 500 students and only 6 washers and dryers in the laundry room. Social experience was the absolute highlight - amazing people and we had a wonderful time throughout the year. Room was small, especially considering my rent, but across the buildings there’s quite a variation in room size, it’s just luck wherever you get put!

Great location as university was basically a 2 minute walk. I made some great friends due to all the freshers events the halls held and other events that took place throughout the year. Facilities were alright, but worth it considering the price and atmosphere.

I've had such a good time here - loads of people to make friends with and really friendly environment. Had many good times and room is great

Perfect location but so expensive and needs a good paint (or just knocking down and rebuilt). Good social place

Great location as onlg 5 minute walk from university buildings and near to all necessary amenities. Can be rowdy with lots of partying but also means it’s very social. Catered meals are average quality but there is always a lot of choice. Rooms are an average size but quite outdated decor, although this will be improved next year when Ramsay is refurbished. Cleaning not always the best, can feel a little grubby and dirty especially over the weekend when the cleaners don’t come in. Would have preferred a kitchen area to meet people rather than long corridors with a small kitchen and no kitchen table. Means we have to sit in the corridor or squeeze into someone’s room when we cook for ourselves at weekends. Overall a fun time but not always the most pleasant of living experiences.

Overall still a liveable hall. Facilities are generally quite old, could really use some renovations to provide a better hall experience for students. Would really appreciate if they had stricter rules to keep this hall clean.

Location was great - 5 minutes' walk to Cruciform building and close to all the lights of Tottenham Court Road etc. Ramsay Hall gets noisy at night, especially in communal areas, although this isn't so bad on the higher floors. Much better value for money with a twin room compared to single rooms (comparing Ramsay to e.g. College Hall).

Best thing about these halls is the location - just a 5-10 minute walk from any of the main buildings and libraries in the central london campus. Very good transport links and walking distance from good bars, pubs, clubs and restaurants. However, for the price you pay (which is standard for London accommodation) the facilities and rooms are average to poor. Kitchens are variably equipped (depending on which floor you are on) and bathrooms/showers are small. Rooms have very little storage space and are basic and tiny in size. But overall an average and unremarkable first year experience.

Great hall. Very social, but a complete mess, especially after a loop night. Rooms are an ok size but walls are very thing. Food is average but it's unlikely you'll ever wake up in time for breakfast.
