Living in halls was such a fun experience for me. My 7 other flat mates and I were a randomised match made in Heaven. Since I moved all the way from the States to London, knowing no one when I first arrived, it was astonishing to feel like I already had a family after the first week. We were ridiculously messy, and nerves wore thin at times, but we had so much fun. We found a sofa on the street and dragged it into our narrow corridor, and rented projectors so we could watch movies in style. We danced on tables, we had countless noise complaints, and honestly, we had more fun in those halls than out of them. Not to mention we each had full ensuite rooms (mine was the biggest ;)), and we were right in the midst of the fun of New Cross. It was such a blast.

surrey house is lovely, but definitely go for the main building over the annexe if you want a social aspect. loads more parties and better sense of community in the other surrey buildings! the rooms are fine, pretty standard uni halls (deffo get a mattress topper tho bc beds are very springy). kitchen is good, one of our stove hobs doesn’t work properly but other than that it’s all good. communal areas r GREAT, there’s a lovely greenhouse building, a fully indoor common area, and a smoking area. staff are are really nice and helpful as well. easy walking distance from uni too.
