Bassett Lowke Hall

I had a much better experience in halls than I expected after all the horror stories I’d heard! I even met my boyfriend in my uni flat. The only problem was my room was right above where everyone smoked, so I could never open my window. I was right next to the uni building though.

The social experience of my halls was amazing. I found that it helped me make many friends outside of my course. The room was simple but efficient and clean. I wish there were better common areas for the flats to socialise.

Halls at Northampton were pretty great. Being close to all coursemates that became my closest friends, having the convenience of university being 2 minutes away and the many great nights out that would start in a different flat each time. Halls will always remain as a great time in my memory.

The room wasn't the best, minimal i would say. One bathroom, with just a curtain separating the shower from the toilet, this meant that the bathroom floor would sometimes flood in water. Nice widr kitchen, no TV through. On campus, so the walk to class was literally 30 seconds. Security were relaxed. Socially it was amazing, met so many people and since it was the first year living away from home I wish I had done it again. 30 minute walk to the town centre.

Bassett Lowke Halls are very convenient for students studying at Avenue Campus. It takes me about 2 minutes to get to lesson due to the halls being on campus, this saves a lot of money that would have been spent on travel and means I can just go back to my flat during breaks. It's very convenient for me to go into uni for resources such as books and other equipment I can't afford as a student. The rooms are small but nice, only a handful of students per flat meaning it's easy to socialise. Each room has an en suite bathroom and each flat has a big kitchen with lockable cupboards for each student.

They don’t take bottles for recycling and the cleaners do a half arsed job even though they are very friendly. Bathrooms are poor and hot water is very temperamental. Security are friendly and approachable.
