The buildings and flats are very modern. Staff are great and will get things repaired ASAP when need. It is very safe and there are always staff on reception 24/7. Placement students are usually place in the same block which is helpful when they go out on placement as this area is much more quiet than the others. WiFi isn't so great as it went off a lot throughout the year..the longest time being around a week.

The location is quite pretty and is very convenient as is basically 5 minute walk from the town centre and a 10 minute walk from the university campus. The rooms themselves are very pretty and there's a good amount of spaced (with a double bed which is a plus). It also comes with an en-suite which is pretty but at time (very rarely, but it happens), the temperature of the water from the shower can be a but inconsistent (i always keep min on the same temperature setting but i get different heat each shower). The common room is lovely too as you get a TV, and two sets of everything (e.g. 2 fridges, 2 stoves, 2 sinks etc.).

I started my stay here in September 2018 and it was terrible. To start the pictures for this accommodation are dated and don't show what it is like now on the Northampton uni website. Granted the building does look modern from the outside. At the front as you go in you will be greeted by the worst hi gate turnstile going and will have to wait to go through as only one person can go through at a time just to get in or out takes a decade. Which leads to the main waiting area, nothing special there.U do get to use the printer for free however. There is a residential team on site but i could not tell you who or what they look like as there's no way from telling them apart from everyone else. have they been useful , no!U get your own small locker can say it been useful or seen anyone using it, but it's there.if you want to feel like you are in a prison ,locked up like fort knocks this place is for you i have to go through 4 doors to get to my accommodation, no one touching your stuff i guess. The rooms alright u get the basics bed ,desk etc . but don't expect everything to be pristine for the extra cost, stuff will be missing or broke but the staff won't do a lot about it,but if you're lucky you might get a shrug from them.we still have no iron and a crack in my ceiling is getting ever bigger.Bonus if you love to boil into liquid mess as the rooms are always boiling, sorry no air con here,u do have a crap window which barely opens, if u think that will help.(it wont). Let's move onto the wifi, in short ,crap. It drops more that a prostitutes panties. Bring a Ethernet cable or feel its eternal wrath of crapness. On top of a the WiFi and coursework i have smoke blowing in through my window as the room backs onto the smoking area. Who thought having it slap bang in the centre of the accommodation was good idea? Do any of you know what sleep is because you won't if you stay here.Even my first night here people were very loud, and this happened everyday since i've been here. All they've done is put signs up to be considerate but nobody takes any notice evidenced by nobody shutting the fk up.it is a choice between boil to death or have your ears bleed to death you choose.(i get people like having fun but come on its everyday.) Location is great as many shops and pubs are within walking distance and there is a Morrison like 2 mins away.My social experience - was not a good first impression as i expected some kind of group get to gather when i started to see who i was sharing with but nothing like that ever happened.they also have weird posting system as well it does not go directly to the halls it go to a resource centre first so you can be expected to wait an extra day before it gets there. value - not a lot, maybe some useless staff, oh and i almost for got there are frequent fire alarms like 3 - 4 a week, there is no prior warning so expect to be woke up by it and jump out of your skin.such fun

Definitely the best halls available and worth paying the extra for if you can afford. 3/4 size beds in all rooms and en suites. Kitchens all have 2 of everything so there is loads of space for multiple people cooking at once and storing food. Lockable cupboards and fridge space is great. Living room is equipped with Tv’s and sofas so great for socialising.

Friendly staff, nice enough but the there is no communication when talking to maintenance about a problem so you don’t know when it’s going to be fixed, good enough but for the price we are paying I expected better.

The location is amazing because it's only a five minute walk into the town centre which is great for both going shopping or to out to eat as well as going on a night out. There's also a Morrison's at the bottom of the road which is sorry convenient, especially when you do a big shop and don't want to carry everything for too long. The rooms are really nice and modern and the kitchen is great with everyone having their own cupboards. The security is immense, a bit too strict (especially with overnight guests, only one a week) bit that's understandable as it's in the town centre.

The interior and exterior is very nice and the rooms are a good size with double beds. The end suite is very helpful and the lounge is comfortable to sit in. The location in town is great for going to the shops and restaurants

The location is fantastic, especially now as the new campus is openng 2018. It is local, it is close to grocery stores, restaurants, bars and pubs and shopping. The rooms are small, but convenient. There is no storage space which is inconvenient as I have no place for things like suitcases. The kitchen is spacious, however, we are six people sharing it and the actual cooking area is tiny and we have tiny cupboards, and the two closest to the oven cannot be used to store food as they get heated up by the oven. They make you sign a contract that you will not bother your neighbours, however it is impossible to sleep during the weekend because people are extremely loud, and the halls are not staffed enough to actually deal with it. Inside the flats, the doors to the rooms are so shallow with no isolation whatsoever, I can hear what my flat mates are talking about in their respective rooms. On top of that, the rooms are crazy expensive for what you get, and I'd rather live in a flat of my own for the same money, than sharing a tiny space with people who are inconsiderate of their neighbours.

It’s very expensive and on top of that you have to pay for washing it isn’t incudled in the 6 grand basically. but apart from that it’s really nice and updated, the rooms are lovely and the seating area with the tv is nice to watch films with the house. also in the middle of town what is very good.

Worst accommodation, no freedom, rude security , bad WiFi !!! Everyone must be in their own rooms at 12pm ... what is this boarding school

At first look St.Johns is easily the nicest accommodation at UON however don’t be fooled by the way it looks! First of all the place is like a prison I couldn’t even let my mum use my toilet for 2 minuets without having to produce ID and sign her in! Forget about having a friend crash at yours last minute after a night out, security are like hawks! Maintenance take about 2 weeks to respond and fix any issues you have and usually when they finally ‘fix’ your problem it’s usually not fixed or it’s a shabby job! The biggest problem with SJ is that in the summer months it’s hotter than the inside of an oven, you can open every window and have as many fans as you want but it won’t make a difference! To make matters worse the large fan that we bought brand new was taken by maintenance and when we emailed to ask where and why it had gone we were left with no reply!

Great security and helpful staff. Laundry room, ensuite bathroom. Kitchen with sofas and tv very comfy. Cleaner comes twice a week to remove bins and other kitchen clean. Key card access for flat and room very safe. Right in the middle of town centre. Everything is 5-10 mins away; shops, food, bus station, train station, gym, argos etc

The halls are right in the town centre which is good because you don't have to pay for a taxi back on a night out. They are clean and well kept. The fire alarms are tested too often though. There aren't rally any social areas but it was easy making friends with my flatmates and the flat opposite.
