Archers road is split into 2 halls, gately halls and Romero halls. Both these halls are around 100m apart and are on opposite sides of the road. Gately has much larger kitchens but all the rooms are the same. Rooms are small but sifficient and all are en suite .The best sspras of archers road is the location .You are a 15 minute bus ride to uni and only a 10 minute walk to town

Archers Road is an underrated halls of residence. As well as it being good value for money for an ensuite; it is well connected to other areas of southampton and the university by good bus services although you'll have to walk about 5-10mins to the actual bus stop. It also has a co-op within 1 minute walk as well as the infamous Bedford place about 5-10min walk away. This place has lots of places to eat as well as convenient stores and supermarkets such as Tesco and Sainsbury's. It is also a 12-15minute walk to the city centre or equally you can catch a bus.

Really nice hall, in between the city centre and the campus. Buses every 7-8 minutes and room really well designed. Reception 24/7 perfect for deliveries.

Although they probably are one of the smaller halls, it’s cosiness meant you were able to meet people much easier. It was walking distance to town and Avenue Campus. The only downside would be the walk to the bustop, which is around 7-10 minutes away. But Coop is literally next door!

When looking round accommodation Archers road wasn’t one which I thought I’d be happy with. However, since moving in I have learned to love it, one of the cheapest ensuite rooms in the best location out of all the halls! At Archers Road you are a 10 minute walk from the city centre and 20 minute walk away from the university. This is great when it comes to nights out because it means you can walk back, and get some food on the way back with the money you would have spent on an Uber/taxi. The social experience whilst living in halls is also so great! Since Archers road is smaller than most of the other halls at this university, you get to know people a lot better and the kitchens are also big enough to have great parties in.

Archers road is a great location for first year students, situated mid-way between the city centre and university you get the best of both worlds whilst the free bus pass with all student accommodation means all journeys are free! The rooms are slightly old fashioned, with single beds, but the en suite is a definite bonus!

I’ve loved living in Archers as it is both close to the university and the city centre so you get to know the town just as well as the university!

Great accommodation for its money. Good location, between the university and the city centre. The common room is big and comfortable, great for studying or gathering with friends.

It's amazing value for money considering you get an en suite and a giant kitchen. It's a bit away from the uni but with a free bus pass that is not too much of a problem however you are close to clubs and shopping.

Really big kitchens. It was nice to have that space to hang out with your other flatmates. The common room was great for that too. Staff usually very friendly. Not ideal placement for university, if you miss the bus, its a bit of a walk, but definitely doable. I really enjoyed staying here.

Location isnt bad but facilities are rubbish, too quiet for my liking and too far away from the bus stop

I had a great time in Archers Road. I was placed in Romero and was lucky enough to be allocated a flat with a big kitchen which allowed for a very sociable time. The location meant that walking to uni wasn't really an option but because of the free bus-passes given to first-years in halls, this was not a problem. It was quite near the town centre which made going out a fair bit easier and meant that we rarely needed to book taxis, which probably saved us a lot of money.

It’s good for what you are paying- your own bathroom and a decently sized room- it is only a single bed but it’s only you there’s no need for a double. The desk and draws are nice however the lighting needs to be improved as well as the wardrobe that barely qualify a for a cupboard. However it is easy to make it more homely and comfortable it is not bad and if you can’t pay out for a lavish room this is perfect for anyone
