Location of David Moxon is great, aprox. 7 minutes walk to University, 5 minutes away you have groceries shops tesco, Lidl and few others like Polish or Romanian which is great if you are international student. Basically there is no need for buses because you can get to the clubs, galleries, shops, restaurants in about 15 maybe 20 minutes. This accommodation costs 137 pounds per week and it supposed to be a quiet one but it’s not. People who are starting here are quite and don’t party all the time but while you’re in your room you can hear everything, every footstep on the corridor, people in their rooms or kitchen and the most annoying are doors and locks which are really loud, especially kitchen doors, these can easily woke you up in the middle of the night. Rooms are nice, they are not the prettiest ones but you’re getting enough space to store your stuff and feel comfortable. Bathrooms are quite specious (my fiend who’s living in Austen house in a studio has smaller than me), the problem is with shower where you can have either cold or hot water and pressure is really bad, sinks are quite small and comes with two taps one with cold one with warm water which can be quite problematic. The worst thing are electrical heaters which you can turn on only for 2 hours and you can’t regulate the heat as it turns off when you want to lower the heat. Kitchens are the best thing in this accommodation, they are big, you’re getting two ovens, two hobs, two fridges, toaster, microwave and a kettle. Everyone has two lockers and one shelf in the fridge. Kitchen is cleaned every week day. You pay £2,50-3,50 to do your laundry and £1,50 to dry it. I think that this accommodation it’s not worth the price as in private halls you’re getting so much more for the same or sometimes even lower price.

The facilities are sometimes below standard. For example, my shower barely makes it to like warm before slowly getting colder. Our kitchen tap makes funny noises and complaints made are reviewed days later, rather than immediately so they get to the point of being unbearable.

The location was great however the halls themselves were horrible. Awfully small common room and laundry room, driers and washers were often full of clothes for hours on end. The rooms themselves were small and obviously old, just very basic. No lounge area for the blocks of flats either just a kitchen and dining area, cleaners were very picky and as were staff. Over priced for the very basic things you get. Tiny bathroom with horrible shower too.

The location is alright, it's about 10-12 minutes walk from the solent university, but the walk is through a park nicknamed 'rape park' which is full of rats which at night sound like there could be someone hiding behind the trees as well as sadly, recently, a girl being raped in the park. Which is when I learned that the nickname is not a joke, but it's called that for a reason. Very dangerous area especially at night. David moxon itself is quite nice. I have my own bathroom but share a kitchen with 5 other students. The bathrooms aren't very nice but at least I have my own. Students choose to party in their kitchens instead of the common room so it can get pretty loud as the security is pretty useless. The room is good, I have a desk and a chair, three shelves on the walls, another chair. Wardrobe and a bed. Pretty satisfied with where I'm staying. Just wish students were divided into maybe year of study. As first years like to party all the time, whereas second or third years like some quiet time to study. Internet either works great or doesn't work at all.

My experience in halls was daunting at first, but once familiarising myself with the area and getting to know my fellow hall mates it turned out to be on of my greatest experiences yet. Would highly recommend to all
