The town of Stirling is relatively small compared to other student towns but it has a really good community. The music scene is excellent with live music, open mics and folk nights happening nearly every night. It has a shopping centre which has all the big clothes shops as well as lots of charity shops for second hand clothes. You can rent bikes for a small fee and cycle around the area which has a beautiful landscape. The university is about a 20 minute cycle/40 minute walk to the town centre which is ideal. The one problem is the buses aren't good value for money and often take ages to get to the uni first thing in the morning due to traffic and high demand, so you're better off cycling/walking. The town is also about 50 minutes away on the train from Edinburgh/Glasgow which is handy.

Stirling is a great city, small and easy to travel around, by foot and buses are regular and cheap to catch! Nights out are class as there's lots of pubs and bars surrounding the clubs and all are easy to get to! Everything is pretty affordable which is a bonus, and there's plenty of cafes and restaurants to eat out or go for coffee which is ideal. Stirling is also a very historic city wit the castle, monument and bridge and the university itself is beautiful and unique with how green it is. Stirling overall is more like a minnie community which is sometimes hard to come by in the larger cities!

The city of Stirling is fantastic for the student. It has all the major supermarkets and amenities of a larger city while still retaining the quaint town feel. Bus links all of the town together, and trains link Stirling to all major Scottish cities, and airports.

Fubar night club is in the middle of town and ia cheap and good for a night out. Drinks are about £2 and entry is often £2/3. Taxi stands are close by and always filled with taxi’s. The thistle shopping centre has great shops. There is loads of restaurants in Stirling and nice cafes for coffee dates! Stirling has everything that students need.

The location of the University of Stirling is outstanding! It is by far the most beautiful university campus I have ever seen, with wildlife, nature walks and a gorgeous Loch situated right in the middle. It is the most perfect surroundings to go for a walk in when needing to take a study break from the library!

It is a cute little town - there are a few things about to do, including the popular Fubar nightclub. I've seen students perform there also, which is cool. The usual bars and things, also a cat cafe. There are a lot of good food places and also the classics tp fall back on - McDonald's, Pizza hut. The bus service to get to town is cheap especially if you use your student card which gives you a discount.

Nights out are the best in Stirling as there are lots of bars and 2 different clubs that are very cheap. There is a large shopping centre that has every shop imaginable. The uni campus is the most beautiful campus with the loch and surrounded by the Castle and Monument. There is a lot of history and a lot of beautiful walks that can be taken to observe this history. Stirling is also full of a variety of small and large places to eat and has lots of entertainment e.g. cinema and bowling.

Nights out are good fun, lots of bars to choose from too. There are various touristy things to do also if you’re bored. Nando’s and McDonald’s available, the usual staples.

The campus is set in a beautiful area with a lake, so relaxing and a great place to go for walks. The city is easy to get to from the Uni with buses and taxis available on campus into the centre. The town centre has everything for any student - clubs, bars, restaurants and a sports complex. The sports facilities at Stirling uni are top notch and with a new sports centre in the plans for the future, will become even better.

Theres not really enough to do. There is only two night clubs so you get bored of them very easily. It does have one of the nicest campus when the weathers nice, but that doesn’t come all too often.

Great Uni with an amazingly green campus. Perfect to commute by bike from the city centre while able to enjoy a proper bars and restaurants at night time. Lecturers are very engaged and active while trying to help the students as much as possible though I didn’t find the core of the teaching and assessment especially demanding or too hard.

Actual campus itself is amazingly secure and safe, very good atmosphere. Town centre and shops are only a short bus ride away, and buses run every 15 minutes or so.. very easy to get about. Historical culture is amazing, lots for people to explore.

As an international student I felt welcomed since my first week at uni. Socialising events helped to get used to the new environment and to make friends. I also really like my course and the flexibility it offers. I can study different subjects at a same level and therefore widen my horizon. Campus life is great and everyone is friendly and open-minded. The time at university flies by and it is really important to make the most out of it. So enjoy, take a breath and get involved in projects besides studying, as much as you can.

Great beers, cost a fair bit more than your standard lagers, IPAs etc. Great chilled atmosphere in the brew dog bars I've been. Really cool interior design in a brew dog bar.

Brew Dog is worth a visit for specialist lagers before getting completely drunk in the spoons next door will some great affordable food. The Wallace Monument is a great walk and the best way to see Stirling. It’s situated in the outskirts near the Bridge of Allen.

Stirling Uni is a 5 minute bus journey to the town centre, connecting you to the train station for further journeys, or leading you into the Thistle centre for shopping. Fubar, Dusk, Katie’s Bar, Cape and several other nightclub/bar/pubs also reside here. Lots of places to eat with a variety of tastes, something to suit everyone. Lots of entertainment and lifestyle choice places to visit as well such as the bowling and the cinema, the Peak Gym, all within walking distance of the Uni’s town centre bus stop.
