The town of Stirling is relatively small compared to other student towns but it has a really good community. The music scene is excellent with live music, open mics and folk nights happening nearly every night. It has a shopping centre which has all the big clothes shops as well as lots of charity shops for second hand clothes. You can rent bikes for a small fee and cycle around the area which has a beautiful landscape. The university is about a 20 minute cycle/40 minute walk to the town centre which is ideal. The one problem is the buses aren't good value for money and often take ages to get to the uni first thing in the morning due to traffic and high demand, so you're better off cycling/walking. The town is also about 50 minutes away on the train from Edinburgh/Glasgow which is handy.

Stirling is a great city, small and easy to travel around, by foot and buses are regular and cheap to catch! Nights out are class as there's lots of pubs and bars surrounding the clubs and all are easy to get to! Everything is pretty affordable which is a bonus, and there's plenty of cafes and restaurants to eat out or go for coffee which is ideal. Stirling is also a very historic city wit the castle, monument and bridge and the university itself is beautiful and unique with how green it is. Stirling overall is more like a minnie community which is sometimes hard to come by in the larger cities!

The city of Stirling is fantastic for the student. It has all the major supermarkets and amenities of a larger city while still retaining the quaint town feel. Bus links all of the town together, and trains link Stirling to all major Scottish cities, and airports.

Fubar night club is in the middle of town and ia cheap and good for a night out. Drinks are about £2 and entry is often £2/3. Taxi stands are close by and always filled with taxi’s. The thistle shopping centre has great shops. There is loads of restaurants in Stirling and nice cafes for coffee dates! Stirling has everything that students need.

The location of the University of Stirling is outstanding! It is by far the most beautiful university campus I have ever seen, with wildlife, nature walks and a gorgeous Loch situated right in the middle. It is the most perfect surroundings to go for a walk in when needing to take a study break from the library!

It is a cute little town - there are a few things about to do, including the popular Fubar nightclub. I've seen students perform there also, which is cool. The usual bars and things, also a cat cafe. There are a lot of good food places and also the classics tp fall back on - McDonald's, Pizza hut. The bus service to get to town is cheap especially if you use your student card which gives you a discount.

Nights out are the best in Stirling as there are lots of bars and 2 different clubs that are very cheap. There is a large shopping centre that has every shop imaginable. The uni campus is the most beautiful campus with the loch and surrounded by the Castle and Monument. There is a lot of history and a lot of beautiful walks that can be taken to observe this history. Stirling is also full of a variety of small and large places to eat and has lots of entertainment e.g. cinema and bowling.

Nights out are good fun, lots of bars to choose from too. There are various touristy things to do also if you’re bored. Nando’s and McDonald’s available, the usual staples.

The campus is set in a beautiful area with a lake, so relaxing and a great place to go for walks. The city is easy to get to from the Uni with buses and taxis available on campus into the centre. The town centre has everything for any student - clubs, bars, restaurants and a sports complex. The sports facilities at Stirling uni are top notch and with a new sports centre in the plans for the future, will become even better.

Theres not really enough to do. There is only two night clubs so you get bored of them very easily. It does have one of the nicest campus when the weathers nice, but that doesn’t come all too often.

Great Uni with an amazingly green campus. Perfect to commute by bike from the city centre while able to enjoy a proper bars and restaurants at night time. Lecturers are very engaged and active while trying to help the students as much as possible though I didn’t find the core of the teaching and assessment especially demanding or too hard.

Living in Stirling and going to the University of Stirling is amazing. Nights out are amazing, it is quite a small city with only two nightclubs but they have amazing Student nights and you know everyone you know will be there and it is always super fun! Shopping is average, there could be a better variety of shops but its good for all the essentials! Dinner/drinks/entertainment in Stirling is good value for money. Always student deals and discounts and is reasonably priced. There is plenty to do in Stirling. For example, Activities on campus, cinema, bowling, swimming, pubs and clubs.

Stirling has a fantastic range of pubs, including a very lively Irish pub, Molly Malones. One of its least positive sides is it only has two night clubs, Dusk and Fubar which are very enjoyable but can get quite repetitive. It has a very student-friendly environment with a wide range of different cultures and opportunities to embrace all the different cultures.

Stirling is good for nights out, lots of pubs and two nightclubs. Requires more options for cinemas as it can be very expensive on most days apart from Monday deals. Shopping center is brilliant has loads of the main shops needed and food shopping has loads of options such as tesco, lidl. Public transport is very convient and easily accessible.

The location of the university is just outside of Stirling, campus is absolutely picture perfect and has all basic amenities on site. We have 6 football pitches, an Olympic sized swimming pool, a supermarket, our student union/bar, Starbucks, Costa and a whole range of other eateries. We also have a medical centre just next to our halls, which gives us quick access and help to any problems that we might have. However, In terms of the actual town of Stirling/bridge of Allan, it’s all very quite. Stirling has 2 clubs dusk and fubar, which doesn’t offer amazing nights out and is nothing compared to the great clubs available in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Furthermore, there is really only one place to shop, and that’s thistles shopping centre. The town it’s self isn’t very walkable, and you would most likely have to take the bus home from town to campus.

As an exchange student, Stirling is a fantastic and central place. Just only an hour away from both Edinburgh and Glasgow, it's in an extremely efficient location. It's also easy to catch the bus to and from Stirling center to the university. The bus ride from campus to the center takes you across the river, with epic views of the Stirling Bridge and Stirling Castle. There are numerous supermarkets around to choose from and nightlife in Stirling has been made easy with loads of cool bars, my favourite being The Boozy Cow. The town could use a few more nightclubs, however, the ones which exist are always great for a night out. All in all, beautiful uni and I'm loving every second of it!

Even though Stirling is quite small there is always tons to do. Nights out are always really fun and there are lots of different options for bars. Cheeky Nando’s is also avail. It’s quite a cheap place to live and has pretty much every supermarket there is nearby and a shopping centre with lots of options.

Nice central location, not far drive from nearest amenities and a beautiful lake surrounding the campus. Peaceful and quiet area with nature all around - which makes studying a lot easier. Student life is great at night due to the plentiful selection of bars and clubs to keep you occupied. Great cycle scheme in the center which is again, helping the environment.
