Clarice Cliff Court

The room size was decent. It seemed a bit expensive for what it actually offered. It felt a bit like a prison cell in the way it looked, however it provided what any student needed. The kitchen, however, was disappointing. Looked like a typical Uni kitchen as opposed to newer kitchens elsewhere on site. One oven to share between five. I didn’t hate the accommodation though a renovation is necessary.

Too expensive for the style, other accommodation costs less and is more updated. The way that it is more outside of the normal halls and very enclosed, it is difficult to make friends. Flat sizes are small and people do not know eachother easily.

The location of my halls is good and my lecture buildings are never more than ten minutes walk away and similarly supermarkets are within a short distance too. My room itself has a single bed which is admittedly not the comfiest and the walls are just white breezeblocks, nothing special. The kitchen area is well equipped and regularly checked for cleanliness with any broken appliances being quickly cleaned or replaced, as we only have a dining table and no living area or sofas i feel that my flat are not as close as they could be as there isn't that social space to encourage us to sit together which would have made my experience at uni better. However I chose this accommodation over others due to the en suite bathroom.

The outside area of Clarice cliff is very welcoming. There is a small band-stand like piece in the middle which can host barbecues and open mic nights etc. Inside the halls themselves, dependent on where you are it can be a little dark as there could be no windows, however, having your own bathroom is a plus. There is also an on-site post office which is a god-send. The one major downside to Clarice I found was that it was a good 25 minutes walk to my side of campus, and that it hasn't been updated like the other halls.

We pay a lot more to have a toilet yet we don’t have TVs, ceiling speakers and sofas like everybody else

Rooms were slightly outdated and there was no were for social activites to take place. A more friendly and up to date common area would be a great addition.

good location, a little off from the uni which is a lot better for noise etc. ensuite toilet which is nice! kitchen is a good size with a table and chairs. the room is decent size however can be really really cold during winter because you can only have the heating on for three hours at a time.

The room was quite enjoyable, having my own bathroom rather than sharing with a load of people! But the kitchen only had one cooker between 6 of us. Luckily only a couple of us cooked in halls otherwise it would have been very difficult. Socially, rubbish. I tried to talk to people but they didn't want to know and someone was awful with their girlfriend having arguments waking me up at god awful times at night. Value for money, way overpriced for what it is. A bedroom and use of the cooker/fridge/freezer. The internet always cut out or was slow because of so many people using at all the time. They aren't the best halls. But okay for first year of uni.

Pretty crappy accommodation. We were lied to about it being re-done for our year of occupancy. I have damp in my room from the ceiling and walls to the shower curtain. My SHOWER CURTAIN had Mould and visible bacteria on it when I arrived at uni in September. My mattress is old and stained from god only knows how many other people. It was visibly dirty on arrival and didn’t seem to really be cleaned from the last person as I found ‘her’ items dotted around the room. Granted we have an ensuit so that’s good but everything else is pretty trash. The ‘communal room’ if you can even call it that is a kitchen with a table. Bog standard. Whereas all the other accommodations have had their kitchens redone. They look amazing they’re inviting and cosy they have breakfast bars, sofas, a flat screen tv. Finally they have way better cookers, fridges and work surfaces. Wish I had chosen a different accommodation, the only reason I chose it was to have my own bathroom.

Very basic for the amount you're paying for, the Wi-Fi is decent but breaks a couple of times a month and the kitchens could do with a renovation.

The halls are generally really nice, they could do with renovating due to the difference to the houses, the fire alarms that get set off by stupid students vaping and smoking in their rooms are bad and I feel should be punished more.

The room was good. Nice desk and cork board. Bathroom was a little small but fine. Bed was very uncomfortable but with a mattress topper it was okay. The shared kitchen was not something I liked. Other students were too messy and although I tried to keep it clean, it was a waste of time as the other students would make a mess again within 5 minutes. If I had had better flat mates, it could have been a pretty good social environment as there was a good space to socialise in.

The location is excluded from all other parks of the uni, making it quite but giving it a very different atmosphere to generate friendships while studying at uni

The en-suite rooms are so small that there is barely any space to move. The walls are all cinder-block and they barely keep heat in. The whole atmosphere of it just feels very prison like. The rooms and bathrooms are super susceptible to mold too, more so than normal.

My particular block had not been refurbished, and all of the kitchen was outdated and didn't always work. The showers were easily clogged and the wifi was average at best.

Location is good, really close to campus but avoids the business of being in the middle, en suite is great, and the social experience is good especially with the table in the center of the court, maintenance guys are really friendly and the security is to the best standard

For what we are paying the accommodation is bad, the electrical appliances provided in the kitchen keep shorting out and no one will fix it, the rooms smell musty and the windows don’t open far enough to let air in so the room can smell better. The whole building could use an deep clean and a refurbishment
