Mental social experience and close enough to all facilities. Dirt cheap as well. I really really really really really really like it #uppavillage

Although it isn’t perfectly located, especially for those studying on Bay, free bus passes are provided for the students that live there which is great. Also, HSV is vastly cheaper than the other options meaning more disposable income to be used on other aspects of life. The campus is full of fun and friendly students and my year there was amazing and I would happily live there again if I had to.

The location is bad for getting to uni or town. The facilities are adaquate but the social experience was great. The rooms need a bit of work.

The location is very nice, based close the university, however, the facilities are not so great. The bathrooms are not fit to use, we had to have a brand new toilet, the rooms are very small and the heating is awful. The only positive thing about student village is that everyone is very friendly and you make friends quickly as it's such a small place. It's great for flat parties!

It's a bit far from uni itself however last year we were all given a free bus pass which made it basically no problem at all to get to uni. The facilities and the room itself was decent for the price even though some issues (for example lack of hot water in one of the showers) sometimes took a bit too long to sort out. The social experience is great as a bunch of students lived really close to each other so there was always something going on and you could get to know people from very different course just by living close to them.

It was a sh*thole, but it was our sh*thole. I cannot express how amazing of a first year I had at Swansea university and nothing would’ve fasiliated that more than Hendrefoelan; it was broken and dirty and cramped but that’s what made it amazing, it was the people and the atmosphere that made it great. It is such a shame it has been knocked down and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience

The social experience here is by far the best you can achieve out of the available accomodation options for halls, although the place itself is very old and run down. The kitchen will more than likely feel old and grubby and could potentially smell but it is definitely well workable. The rooms are nothing special sporting a single bed and the basics you would expect, although if you get unlucky your mattress may well be much too lumpy to sleep on without a topper.

Great atmosphere! Socially the best place to be for sure. The accommodation itself is a bit worn down but still decent for the price! Internet is absolutely terrible and its a 10 minute bus journey to campus (its currently £300 for an student annual bus pass)

Social experience is fantastic but the accommodation itself Js dates and often musty or dirty. The feeling of a close community is very nice.

While the room and facilities were sufficient, there were regular issues with the showers in particular. Then entire site is in need of modernisation. On reflection, having a sink in the room would have been beneficial, but 2 toilets and 2 showers between 7 people was okay. The cold drab aura of the kitchen made it a less than ideal environment for social interaction and so striking up friends was slightly difficult with no real comfortable communal space. A short walk to the bus stop, and then 15 minutes to Singleton or 45 to Bay campus. WiFi often iffy.

The rooms and buildings are outdated, maintenance is poor and slow. Laundrette broke down for majority of year, most amenities like the spar were shut most of the time. However it is the cheapest option by far

The bathroom flooded the entire tine we were there and despite informing them every week, when ever they sent some one to sort it, the problem was never resolved or they told us we were wrong. This eventually led to 2inches of water flooding our entire bathroom and the floor falling through to the flat below because of the damp. We alao experienced a week whereby the wifi went. Then the water. Then the electricity. Yes thats right. All in one week. And all they offered in return was £50 off our rent and bottles of water.

The place and the room are great, there's a store a post office and a laundry place nearby within the village and the bus service is very convenient. The room itself is great, a good size and a fine bed and furniture. My only complaint would be the fire alarms and the people in my flat, but I don't think the people are the fault of the university.

Absolutely shite as accommodation goes, but as a community by far greater than any other accommodation.

On the social side this is certainly the place to be on campus. It’s nice to have a “home” to go to rather than living on either of the campuses. However, it’s nicknamed “poverty” as a lot of the facilities are run down and frequently don’t actually work. For instance running water.

If travelling to Singleton campus and the national pool it’s perfcet however travelling to bay campus is very long. It’s like a little community here and you get to know a lot of people from different blocks. The rooms are not too bad they are a good size however sharing a bathroom can be a bit challenging if you like your own space.

Decent for nightlife but no water or internet because of the building works made it really difficult to live there

It's very cheap, the cleaners complain the whole time. The appliances are the cheapest available. The beds are uncomfortable. The WiFi is decent and the fridges work. Location to singleton is very nice. If going to bay just don't bother, it's a long way

Best place to meet friends for life, together in the face of adversity and lack of running water! The student village was full of fascinating characters that made my uni experience so enjoyable.

Security (tony) is very rude and intimidating, fire alarms go off when people are being ill from the flu and in the cold for 50 minutes at least, bathroom smells and leaks and poor stand of living. Very good with the bus pass and the homely feeling but overy all feel like a child in boarding school also can go days without water or wifi

It is quite cheap going here. All the furniture and appliances seem to be the cheapest available. The location is not bad in relation to the singleton campus. The staff are very friendly and cleaners do a decent job. All in all not bad band for your buck

The rooms are too small, and there is not good social space, needs to be a common room. The social side is great but this could be added with the additional social events

Was an amazing experience in a social sense, as everyone is so close and all staff are so friendly, however the accomodation (shared house between 10) was pretty dire, had a non working shower for 8 months, and only one oven and one small fridge between 10 people, good job it's been knocked down now!

Good location, as on bus route to everything. Development work caused issues with wifi, water and electricity but was resolved within practical time
