Old House

The halls were a great atmosphere, however security weren't very helpful when it came to sorting out abnormal people being in the premises. Loved the people in my halls but not the constant lack of hygiene and how easily things broke. there was no communal area to sit and have conversations in. it was either the hallway or kitchen area.

Old House is amazing, the location is great it is in the centre of the university, so I can wake up 10 minutes before a 9am lecture and still be ready and there on time. I really like my room, I don't like how all the rooms can vary in size so much so some people are stuck with shoe boxes and others could be a small twin room but it's not the end of the world. The bathrooms and kitchen are good, they have everything you'd need. I love living in halls, the friends you make are incredible especially if you're on a same sex floor you bond like a family! Only thing I'd change is more powerful showers but wouldn't change anything else.

Room was a nice size with new furniture - only downside was it was not en suite. Location of the halls were ideal with most of my lectures being underneath me. It is split between boys and girls however both floors are easily accessible. Would recommend.

So the halls I live in are all girls on my floor, at first I guess there were power clashes and girls can be so bitchy. We’ve almost finished first year and it’s actually taught me a lot. Uni is hard because at the beginning you miss your friends from home and going about your normal routine is compromised, not to mention how your sleeping pattern will never return to normal. I wake up at 4 in the afternoon and sleep at 6 in the morning, either way you paint uni it’s an experience. I wouldn’t change anything about the people or place I live in because it teaches you there’s always going to be people you don’t like and that don’t like you and there’s always room for personal improvement because new people test you to be better and to change the way you are for the better. Socially speaking be prepared to be kept awake all night and for constant bitching but that goes for anywhere, I made friends in a matter of days I know I’ll have for years to come and it’s sick. I love uni

Old House is a perfect location on campus right next to the library and the ref (where you eat all your meals.) The long corridor lay out of the accommodation accounts for making amazing friendship with fellow house mates. However the are 3 toilets on floor 2 for just under 30 girls which can get a little interesting to say the least. Have said this the accomidation is by far the cheapest on site.

No common room, great way to meet friends and socialise too! Rooms are very small but are cosy and let in lots of daylight! The heating in great with rooms very warm all the time too!

Location was great for lectures but rubbish for nightlife, shopping or anything to do. The facilities were awful and completely ruined my uni experience. There was nowhere to socialise and the bathrooms we lee awful. My room was okay. Just the walls and wardrobe was a bit of a mess and like a prison

Good standard of halls... RooMs are a decent size and the people in the halls are easy to get on with. Should have something to stop so much noise disrupting students and kitchen door slams everytime it's opened and closed.

Good location right above the lecture halls and a 1 minuete walk from the refectory. No lounge/ common room so is very noisy a lot of the time as lots happens in the corridors. Great way to make friends though! Rooms are small but for the price are very worth it and snug.

Good value for money considering food is included. Showers are adequate as well as the toilets and my floor hasn’t got many people and a sort of common room.
