The location is good, near the library and shop. The facilities are okay, v small ensuite but your own bathroom is a plus. Very overpriced and tight restrictions. Strict on fire safety and kitchen and bathroom cleanliness.

Alcuin is one of the middle price range accommodation available at the University of York. Located next to the library, Alcuin is convenient and quieter than other halls. If you're keen to be on a quieter part of campus alcuin is perfect for you!

walls are so thin that you can hear everything, any slight noise in the kitchen can be heard through every room and into the rooms at the end of the corridor. doors slam loudly. kitchen doors have alarms which scream and can be heard in the whole building. cleaning staff friendly but rules too strict. lift breaks down a lot, scary. circuit laundry is a bane on my life. £140 per week for 130 sqft but at least I got my own toilet

Generally in good condition and relatively modern and spacious. However the en suite showers tended to flood the bathroom on the whole and the kitchens could become very warm even without the heating on.

Incredibly expensive accom in a particularly quaint area of the university. Routinely nothing do to or organised.

Really enjoyed living in Alcuin. Great community spirit. Okay location, near to the library for exams but not in the heart of the uni - this can be good cos its not as loud. Lots of cute bunnies which added to the enjoyment.

I enjoyed my time in Halls at York University. Meeting new housemates and friends made it very homely and being next to the library was great for exam time.

Nice sized room with lots of storage space. Lots of cupboard space in the kitchen. Room had ensuite, which was cleaned once a month. The kitchen kept clean once a week. Very close to main part of campus.
