I have immense love for my university. As someone with depression and anxiety I was terrified to start my university career, but Anglia Ruskin is so welcoming and homely. I'm glad I joined and I have never looked back! My course is amazing (I study animal behaviour BSc), with lecturers making the lectures, practicals and field trips immensely enjoyable.

My university is beautiful and constitutes of multiple building at the beginning of this year a new building was put in and they are currently working on another. There a variety of facilities that are available to students including this on my course which are A multitude of labs, crime scene rooms. The student union are always there to help and can solve any issue we may have. The careers service are also extremely helpful they help to sort out work experience that is related to the type of job we wish to have.

Course review , 12/05/2017

All modules are very interesting and relate well to the course. Lectures are made fun whether that be due to quizzes, practicals or just generally being taught by an enthusiastic lecturer. Large variety in the ways you're assessed, for example through written assessments and portfolios, oral group presentations, multiple choice exams and written exams. All lecturers on the course are friendly, helpful and approachable.

The detail given in the teaching of the theoretical content is extensive and there are a number of trips you can participate in at a cost or for free depending on if they are compulsory or not.

Practical hands on experience is limited on the course so is better suited to people that learn well by being spoken at. The assessments are good and generally well spaced out so you don't get snowed under by deadlines easily.

The modules throughout the 3 years have been well thought about and cover many different aspects of the course. This includes topics that cover mathematical, economical, engineering, architectural, general building knowledge and technology, building and property history, laws and legislations, measuring and take off, correct and appropriate letter writing and structuring in line with quantity surveying practice.

Course module review - Taxation in the United Kingdom, 18/05/2016

Submitted by Anonymous on

Taxation is one of the modules that is part of my degree. It's a very large, complicated but interesting module, it requires full attention and concentration but it has a lot of information to be understood and take in . Lucky enough I have a good lecturer overseeing the module with effort and enthusiasm to carry every student along. The textbook provided is on point for what is taught in class alongside the handout/classnote provided by the lecturer. The style of delivery and the teaching style makes it very easy and simple but not without personal effort and practice.

Course module review - Crime and Place: Geographic Criminology and Crime Mapping, 11/05/2016

Submitted by Anonymous on

This module is great for a person wanting to gain some insight on what it would be like to be a scene of crime officer (SOCO). It gives you the opportunity to examine a crime scene and collect evidence as if it would be done in a real life scenario. The scenes are all outside and (despite the weather conditions!) you must process the crime scene in your teams and aim to collect and preserve all the evidence you see as a potential item to be examined based on the scenario you are given. It is great fun to do and the bonus is you are learning constantly along the way.
